should you go alien? or rine to even out the teams?

ratio 3v1? tbh i think this is a s**te idea

hmm lets see that in perspective

1 commander 2 'grunts'
1 alien

the alien sets out gorging to build RTs "OMG" 2 rines attacks him/her the alien evolves to gorge again builds OCs 2 rines attack the OCs with the commander spaming Med Packs over their head at regular intervals

tbh 3:1 ratio sucks!

sorry NTFM but that happened to me and it sucked - resulting in me forfitting (sorry spelling) the game


EDIT: I dont know if this happens in other servers aswell and i am deffinetly NOT puttig NTFM server down - because it is a great server

There's nothing wrong with a 3 v 1 game as long as its in favor of the marines. As an alien, your res flow is awesome, so to be realistic, you only need about 2 rts to be able to build basically whatever you want when you want.

I was just there and it was regular's night, so the number of players was a little... thin. are u serious? 3v1 ratio is so easy for aliens to own, cap res towers at each tower make a WOL since ur getting a crap load of res, build oc areas in siege points to hives and at hives, one you way to a hive just build a random oc in the hallway until u reach hive, oc up the hive, put up hive, oc all areas around hive go around helping areas that are under attack, make sure rines get no res towrs, u see a elect rt build 1-2 ocs and leave let them take care of it, then 2 hives up repeat to get other hive unless its locked down then build ocs in areas where a seige cant reach ait for stomp, go onos clear that out celar out all rine areas then go gorge, corner rines in spawn then take them out slowly and more ppl will join eventually to help u out. ez stuff use this strat and ull win it 98% of the time

What some people don't seem to realize, as Diablus basically pointed out, is that the strategy for low player games, be it 1 v 1, 1 v 2, etc., is different from that of a higher player game. If you are on marines, you'd want to relocate to the hive farthest away from the starting hive (even if this is a 1 v 1 game, you can do this... I do this all the time). If you are alien, I'd definately recommand dropping 3 mc and getting celerity. If you drop 2 ocs by each rt, some don't need any guarding them, you should win easily.

for some reason i reallly love small games like 1v1, 1v2,3 2v2,3v3 and such, because its more a calm relaxing game where u can take your time and just have fun and then one team wins by total anihhilation (usually aliens) big 12v12's are cool n all but having those relaxed small games are great for experience and such and a way to escape the hecktish brutal 12v12's

I disagree there. Small games are only really good for getting aqquianted with units and weapons. You can't really get much experience out of running around, barely ever meeting and only ever usually attacking 1 or 2 enemies.

Though I do agree that they're a whole lot of fun, especially when both sides just want to have a bit of fun. Lerk Vs. Jetpack dogfights at awesome as hell.
