Oh... this is going to be a good read. ^_^

[EDIT]Not to great, might not have even been a deadly shark. Grabbing it by the tail in shallow water and gutting on the beach? Great...[/EDIT]

1 lb = 454g
454g = .000454 kg

660*.00454 = 2.994 kg?

I dunno if thats right, I'm an ignorant american who doesn't know kilograms.

LOL blaqwolf i LOVEDDDD that map in sven coop, i had 2 other vrsions of that map oen where the water fileld all the way up, and there was NO limit to those shark thingies (forgot thier long name) ichysaruus or sumthin well anyhow id put an apache in there and watch it get mauled by 50-60 ickys, it had no chance to even shoot, i also gave them scientists for food, and its funny how they swam around like sharks around thier prey and as soon as he moved the ickys MAULED him, u couldnt see him at all, jsut a bunch of ickys attacking, i did feel bad for the old chap

btw back to on topic, what kind of shark was it? a mako, nurse, great white, etc? this reminds me of the time a guy dragged a fat kid with a shark fin on the beach and beat him to almost death until he realized it wasnt a shark

Well, today an important step in natural-selection happened.

If you can get owned by a man in water, something you are supposed to dominate shark, then you deserve to die.

GG Iceman, you pwn.

He isn't that great, IMHO.

He dragged the shark out of the water and killed it with his knife....

Basically the hard part was just catching the tail then dragging in onto the shore, he didn't even have to gut the shark since it would already die in a few seconds.

Stabbing a shark out of water is pretty much like shooting a guy just after he got the lethal injection.

The title is very misleading, there was no actual combat.

Draggin' a 600-pound fish out of the water ain't no small feat ya' know... And running TOWARDS a shark in the water requires some serious guts I'd say.

How is risking your life to save your men stupid? That's nothing less than what they ask of soldiers or firemen.

Edit: Ok I realise that isn't what I said in my previous post. So yeah, running towards a shark is stupid. But not in this situation.

meh....all he did was bring it to the shore and kill it.....

Ok, for all you people who think this isnt a great feat of strength, a 600 pound shark could pull with a force of several hundred pounds in the forward direction. I'm guessing that this man would have had to pull with several thousand newtons of force to get the shark to land. It's about the same as pulling a wheelbarrow full of bricks through the water.

Doug... in Shallow water, the thing might have even been beached.

No mention of what kind of shark it was, either. I'm not saying it's BS, but there are some fish which fall under the category of "shark" which are completely harmless, some of which can be quite heavy.
• homerxhomerx Join Date: 2003-04-01 Member: 15094Members
Points:

He didn't swim towards the shark, he grabbed the tail.

600 pounds isn't much in water.

Plus the shark was in very shallow water, it was probably dying anyway (sick, tired, lost, whatever).

Or maybe it was a full strength 600lbs of man eating toothfilled fish, we will probably never know. What I do know however is that even in water pulling 600lbs whilst it is trying to swim away from you is gonna be tough and either way he did it for the safety of his crew,so the man should be recognisedfor that.

You cynical sods

hehe interesting all the same
• homerxhomerx Join Date: 2003-04-01 Member: 15094Members
I totally agree, you don't have to gut the shark when it's already out of water.
• kyliegirlkyliegirl Gorge Master Australia Join Date: 2002-12-11 Member: 10586Members, Reinforced - Shadow
they should say what sorta shark it was. and the only reason it came to shallow water was because of the blood and guts in the water, it was merely looking for an easy kill. i bet anything it wouldve gone for the carcass and not the crew.
