I have just stumbled upon this. <a href='http://www.metacortechs.com/' target='_blank'>http://www.metacortechs.com/</a> it is a website about 'the world's most foremost software and information development company.' Knowing MetaCortex/techs to be the company Neo worked for in The Matrix I thought this was weird. So I investigated further (read as: google searched) and came upon the following:

And basically I discovered it was an Alternate Reality Game, where you search through things to find stuff - like a massive web puzzle of some sort or another.
Apparently these are quite popular, you search through websites trying to find clues, passwords, hidden photos - you can even e-mail and phone people's numbers

Whether this is a game made by the makers of the Matrix or not is unknown (at least I don't know and haven't found any info) but it does appear well funded and the people who follow it appear to have some fun.
I have no bloody idea about it but I know there are some rabid Matrix fans around who may want to know.
