This is a script I wrote up to help with basic fade movements. When the scripts are activated, you press and hold mouse2 to start blinking, let go and you stop. Press mouse 1 and you start to attack. This script eliminates the need to press 1, 2, or q(last weapon). If you edit the script you can do the same thing with Onos to make one key stomp and the other gore. When the script is off, it rebinds mouse to the popupmenu. When you join a game it *should* be in off mode and mouse2 should be in popupmenu but it is rather fickle.
This script isn't perfect, you may have to press f2 when you first join a game which will set the script to off mode to make your menu work. Due to animations, there are delays in the time between switching attacks. You can't blink, go right up to a person and start swinging right away, it will take about 1/2 of a second before you can swing. There is a little delay (very tiny) when you try to blink. Every once in a while the script will make itself repeat a command and you will end up attacking over and over again or blinking endlessly. To stop this just press use the other skill (ex. attacking endlessly just press the blink button to stop it and vice versa).
Vets probably won't need this script but it is helpfull for people who are just learning the Fade class.
Press f2 to turn the script on and off

According to his posts, this is for people that haven't gotten the hang of controlling the fade yet, with all the weapon switching and everything else. Creating your own server to practice is fine, but it doesn't give you the experience of reacting to a marine rounding the corner with an hmg.

It's right what you say. I don't think anyone can argue about that.
P.S. the pre-last sentence in the first post was :"Vets probably won't need this script but it is helpfull for people who are just learning the Fade class."
Still it's a great way to fade and makes midair combat way easier.
Also, I'm disappointed in you, ns.org - where're the people with the attempted slams about how any script makes you a noob or whatever it is they say?
I demand more drama.
Drama is in <b>NUBCAEK</b> drama, or drama as in <b>I'm cheating on you, Martha, for your cousins math teacher!</b> drama?
....
mouse1 - Attack [+attack]
mouse2 - Popup Menu [+popupmenu]
mouse3 - Spray [+spraylogo]
mwheelup - next weapon
mwheeldown - prev weapon
mouse 4 - reload [ +reload ]
mouse 5 - quick switch [ invlast, i think ]
*then set cl_quickselecttime 0* [ this doesn't create a delay between weapon switching ]
So, for instance say you want to leap bite:
toggle leap, then bite. hit mouse1 [ leap ], then mouse5 [ switch ], and mouse1 again. Your addrenaline will go down, but you may not actually see the model bite, but believe me it works.
It's the same concept as a fade/swipe combo. The only thing is, swipe requires alot more addrenaline to be activated, so its harder. You don't want to hold down blink, really. Crouch, jump, and tap it instead - you'll go flying with minimal addrenaline lost. Aim yerself right at some nub cake marine, and quick switch to swipe, and bam - he's toast.
*REMEMBER*
Fades aren't invincible. If you die too often, check a few things out:
1. Don't charge 4 marines - its not good.
2. Shotties aren't to be tangled with, get in, swipe, and get out.
3. Don't get carapace, don't get redemption - get regen and use blink to give you healing time.
4. Celerity can be very good with fades, but so can addrenaline. It's a trade off really. Addrenaline gives you more blink to close distance and celerity more speed, but when metabolize comes around, addrenaline is probably the winner.
5. Mines hurt.
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA LMAO.!!!!!
Anyhow, the reason why scripts are junk for the fade:
Put this in your console:
hud_fastswitch 1
K, now all you have to do to attack someone is get good with your lastinv button, and you are all set. A script would only waste adrenaline.
So, think of the poor marines. <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->
I love my blink script, but then again, I'm a skill-less nub.
my point exactly..... the players... i think **** is the word i'm looking for <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> ahh well .. when's the next mod out? hehe <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
For blinking and swiping I do just fine with this setup:
bind mouse1 +attack
bind mouse2 slot1
bind mwheelup slot2
hud_fastswitch 1
but other people might feel uncomfortable with that, or it may clash with their setup. So maybe they use a script to achieve the same effect in a different way. So what. If there was a script that made you swipe twice as fast then YES that would be lame and definately cheating. But theres no script like that. Even if there are some that I haven't heard of, the script that was originally posted is not one of them. It doesn't give you any kind of advantage over someone who doesn't use it.
Just play the game.

Lucid uses arrow keys because he can't keep up with the pros who use WASD. Why can't he just play the game?

Righto, chap. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> Its not going to help on the highest level, although it may help against low level pubs.
