I'll say the only thing HL2 has that Stalker doesn't are the animations, esp. the facial expressions.

Yeah... and a huge modding community.

Pbly the only real edge HL2 has is the fact it has a HUGE modding community, theres still TONS of Half-Life 1 mods in the making as well or they've switched to HL2. Other than that, I think Half-Life 2 may bust.

The only reason HL2 will come out so strong is because of HL1.

    That's it.

Without the mod's, HL1 would have died a long time ago.

    ^Yup^

But Half-Life and Half-Life 2 are instant classics, and they're great games.

Although HL2 kinda has a fixed, complicated, storyline, and is a shoot-em-up game rather than a RPG. From what was said in this thread, Stalker is more about the game than the story.
So no wondering "who are g-man's '....employers'? aliens?" or thinking "LOL nihilanth looks like a huge fetus".... and stuff.

Nihilanth also says... "I am the past." before you get to him... And he's stiched up with a device up his ***.

I wouldn't say that, Stalker is hugely driven by narrative.
