    im signing up now, thanks

    i have no idea what it is, though <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->

    when people give the links in future, can they give a brief description of what it is?

    i.e Astrowars is a space game where you own and take over planets, 2d, and can send fleets to other planets to attack planets. you can upgrade your system.

    or something

    edit: eeeek. not exactly 'simple' <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Dominion is a bit needlessly complicated, but if youve played utopia, you should pick it up. Its quite fun, though i dont know whats happened since like round 6 tho. Its like utopia in the old days, with more races and other things. It also has a better community.

    i havent played utopia, but i was using it as an example to get my point across... i really prefer simpler games <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> less options, but less to worry about and learn when you play the game initially

    <a href='http://Games.swirve.com/earth' target='_blank'>Earth 2025</a>

    A very simple war or peace text game.

    You get money from taxing your citizens, high tax rate = low citizens, low tax rate = high citizens, low money.

    It has about 10 government types you can follow, each with it's own bonuses.

    You'd like it, but it's not real time, you get 1 turn per hour, IIRC.

    its not simple in the least <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->

    how old do you think it would be to make a simple one? <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    simpler than astrowars, even!!

    Well, i think complexity makes a game <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->.

    Perhaps <a href='http://www.netdragons.com/games/vq1/new.ipc/' target='_blank'>this?</a> it is an RPG text based game, very simple, you just click and click. I was going to recommend a game called ambar, i played it once, it wasnt too complex. I went to the site, and its no longer there, but <a href='http://space.coldfirestudios.com/' target='_blank'>this</a> is, although i have no idea what it is.

    If all else fails look through this <a href='http://directory.google.com/Top/Games/Internet/Browser_Based/Strategy/' target='_blank'>list</a>, you are bound to find something there.

    I used to play a lot of these types of games before i got DSL <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

    I reember playing tht game when I was in high school. It got boring realy fast b/c the only way to really win in free for all was to have like 15 different accounts and I wasnt yp for the hassel.

    There were actualy clans for that game lol. My friend was in some gian organization for it. His militaries were like in the 10s of millions.

    not text based, not simple.... but fun

    I don't play anymore, I think you have to pay now for premium access. *sigh* I remember the early days when it was all free <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
