can they hold weapons?

also do marines start with weapons or do they need to be given them?

    I believe the last question was answered a day or so ago, so pay more attention.  And would you be able to hold a machine gun in one hand and a welder in another and do anything constructive?  As far as I know the commander gives it out, because marines start default with knife, pistol, and lmg.                              stc

    A welder is given to the marines by the commander after a certain amount if resource pionts are gained.

    As for the marines starting with weapons, it would be a bit stupid if they didn't, wouldn't it?

    Yes, they have to be issued. No, you don't start w/o weapons.

    Knife
    Pistol
    Light MachineGun

    the welder is given if the comander deams it necesary to issue it to [cut webs,weld doors repair armor and a couple other things that are all stc
