Cannot Create Forum Account

<div class="IPBDescription">"username already taken", but...</div> A buddy of mine, a CM, does not have an account in these forums, and his attempts to create one are failing. No matter what username he enters when registering, it tells him that the account already exists. Strangely, when I try to add to my forums Buddy List the usernames that "already exist," the forums tell me that the username can't be found. He gets a similar error when he uses the "retrieve password" function of the forums (edit: for the usernames that it says are already taken, just in case he registered a long time ago).

Is something broken with account creation?

Someone go try to create a forum account and tell me if it works. Every time I try to create one, it tells me that the username is taken, no matter what username I use.
