Lightbulb.... Pickup Ns Tourney..

<div class="IPBDescription">Read on!</div> How about someone get a sign up page for anyone who wants to sign up for a Pickup NS tourney.... ALL people accepted regardless of skill.... and you simply sign up with:

From there all people who sign up are divvied into teams with one or 2 commanders per marine team, the more teams the better....

From there we need several servers, and every saturday night the teams play scrimmiages for three weeks, who wins is written down(recorded) for later use..

Each Team has 12 people, and it is designed for a 10v10 game, in case some people cannot make it, and if your team is short... you play anyways.. there is no forfiet!

This is simply pickup, and therefore FUN however at the end of the third week... and the third game for each team.....Brackets will be set up based on score.. 1 vs 8 2 vs 7 3 vs 6 4 vs 5... ect.... and the tournament is played out over how ever many weekends are needed.. OR all in one night....make it an all night tourney.. with matches on HLTV to watch... <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> so all losers can watch the god teams...

WInning/2nd place teams get recognition on the NS site.. and possibly other publicity, and teams are reshuffled, and all new people who want to play added in


WHile it WOULD require a lot of organization... id TRY to set it up...
BUT we would need:

Several Servers to use
Fan Support
Fan Dedication
NS_Team SUpport
LOTS OF HELP from others (not just me doing this)

Im only 17,and have school a lot, but this sounds like it would be a lot of ufn to me... i do this with sports all the time.. and it could be set up to work in the NS setting too....

tourneys are quite hard to plan. You need much more organization. TG has been planing one for some time.

i could proberbly throw together an sign up page built in PHP.

You know...
It asks for Name, in game name, Email address, race(This would be combo of Alien, Marine, Marine Commander)
It then lies in wait. After 6 people have given in there details it sends an e-mail to them giving information abot the server and what team they they will play. It will contine to take on players however until the server player limmit is reached. these people who sign up after will recive there information straight away.
It would also jump to a conformation page showing the current team roster, etc. The PHP script would also limit the ammount of people which can join 1 team.

i have no idea how to use php.. but i get the idea of what you mean....

ArsClan did this awhile back (ArsClan is a non competitive clan of several games one of which is NS), we made around 8 teams of 6 and had 4 servers to have a 1 day tourney. Despite the fact that it was 2.0 and just about every game was alien wins, it was loads of fun, and I'd <b>love</b> to participate in another.
