If anything, I'd say speed. The faster a team executes ANY strategy, the better. Take the marines, for example- if they immediately expand to anywhere, they have a instant advantage. If to a hive- a good advantage. If to a long hallway with resnodes a plenty- good advantage. Aliens simply have to be fast, and prevent this. Speed and teamwork is the key(but emphasis on speed)
he's talking about when you're in the middle of a game, and everyone is alive and well when suddenly one team randomly wins. i dont get it either. i heard its got something to do w ppl f4ing out...? id like to know too
Some servers have a timelimit on. Which can be annoying if you dont know it has one.. Maybe an improvement could be in game announcements of how much time is left.
Yeah, basically, the question seems to be what are the different possible ways for the game to end.
So far we mentioned: Unbalanced teams (4 or more players, can be disabled on a server (I think)) Timelimit (I've personally never come across this)
And then the basic: All marines dead, no IPs left All aliens dead, all hives dead (Though after a certain amount of time, aliens are killed without hives)
Wow, this "feature" really sucks. This one can't be blamed on steam . Can it be turned off? It seems more than a little stupid and unfair.
It really stinks when both teams are in an intense fight for control of the map, and everyone's throwing in everything they got, and then suddenly it just ends. NO FUN!!!
Auto-concede is a server-side variable, hence the server you're on can regulate when the game is automatically conceded.
Remember that often in NS, one team is simply in an unwinnable situation. Many players would rather start a new game than spend a few more minutes in a doomed situation. Some people frown on this, others (like myself) believe it is a legitimate part of the game. Personally, I feel no fun or honour in gunning down 1 hive skulks with my lvl 3 HMG and HA (wait a moment! Why am I playtesting Combat then? ), nor do I have fun being the skulk on the recieveing end.
As for other methods of victory, they're unquestionably legit and a vital part of NS.
Oh, then I should prolly find other servers that don't have this on!
Often this does not happen in an unwinable situation. It's even happened when the declared loser is winning! Many a fun (and non-one way) game I play is ruined when it just ends like this.

there is no chance of victory when 4 ha hmg are camping the hive with med and ammo spam.
Once... cuz we built a great wall of china in tf's down tram tunnel(in bast) and electrified the tf's... then put mines all over them, to the mine limit.... and we had like 2 fps in there from what usually was 99 for me.... then let all the aliens come in and take pics... and they tired to kill it and all died... they blew up a few mines tho... so we gave everyone jetpacks and mined the hive to death...
Or one time like all the aliens grouped around our last IP... 10 skulks or so and one onos... the onos would time the stomp so it got the spawning marine the second he spawned.... then they would parasite the marine to death.... they did this for like 2 minutes before eventually getting bored... but it was hilarious to watch...

For example marines have 8 players and aliens have 5 players.1 alien f4s.Game will end in favour of the marines.
Usually games willl end if a team has 4 players less,or in some cases half/1 less than half, than the other team.
