Make sure you select the "Do not run the game" button <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

repatch hl, with the full 1.10, or with your mass of small updates

also, if u have a leek, and run around in ns, it will crach out on u - most of the time - so its best to copy your valve folder, and make that you leek find folder (or copy the map, and all its rescouces to the valve folder)

if it complies fine, duno why it would crash out, also try a check disk (scan disk for 9x), and a defrag, they might help stablize your system, and make the complie tools go just that little bit faster

random ns crashes CAN occur from the use of teh AAATRIGGER texture, so if you are using it replace it with null.

also if you are running hl via steam it will occasionally crash on quiting. this is fixed in 2.1.

other seemingly random problems can result from bad .rmfs/.maps
try copying all of teh brushes from your map into a fresh rmf and compiling.

i really cant think of an good case where hl should crash on quit from a map problem. it sounds like and engine problem to me but i could be wrong

Try restarting after you compile. It should free up some ram that was used by the compiling programs.
