Ns: Combat In Lan Cafe Scene

Could we have another breakthrough?
I manage a chain of LAN Cafe's in San Diego. Currently, the most popular game is Counter-Strike, with the most popular maps being the "fy_nub" and "aim_irsux" maps. At $3 an hour, this is no surpise, as fast action killing is approved over long waiting times imbetween rounds.

I tried to introduce NS into my cafe's, but it was met with mixed results. The high learning curve of the game led many of my regulars and new customers alike to become discouraged and fall back into death- matching in CS.

Parhaps, NS:C will break this trend. I hope that NS:C comes through as an innovative alternative (or replacement) to CS deathmatching. The first person/RPG hybrid that NS:C appears to be will hopefully be widely accepted.

Thoughts? Ideas?

Yeah, I'm sure combat will be more interesting for people to play at LAN cafes, especially if they like CS.

NS:C isn't as refined an action shooter as CS is. In itself, I doubt it'll be much competition against the likes of CS, it's NS:classic that really makes the game. Oh well, give it a shot, i'd like to see NS:C in some lan cafes.

NS:C will be more like TFC than CS. you dont' see that many TFC players in lan cafes do you?

Yeah, barely any TFC players. However, we are getting a growing amount of WC3 maulers. Yet again fast action paced (if you could call that fast action)

NS:C IS NOTHING LIKE TFC you actually have to have either strategy or skill to **** it up and its pretty damn nice on the fun - scale. It beats cs on my fun scale, although mainly because ive just gotten tired of cs

Don't forget to add that you spent a fair amount of time earlier today completely tearing me, and my team, to shreds time and time again... I'm sure that had nothing to do with your enjoyment? Heehee...

The fast pace of NS:C is as fast as your typical deathmatch. At least if you have teams of 4 or more. The rounds usually last approximately 5-8 minutes and action is high. It will still take some getting used to for new people, mainly on the alien side, but I'll bet it could be hot in a typical CS cafe setting. The biggest difference in NS:C from traditional NS is the "jump right in and fight" gameplay. If you're a marine you know "the aliens must die!" and if you're an alien you know "the marines must die!". The rest is selecting your personal weaponry and playing style.

For those of you who haven't had the pleasure yet, you are in for a treat
