Witnessed A Hack Ive Never Seen Before

on an updated Cheating Death Server..
IM just wondering whether this hack is known yet, as it gives the user an insane advantage, and since it is on an updated cheating death server, i want the next version to be updated for this..

First off.. i dont hack, however i did observe someone using this hack on a Cheating Death Server last night

I was on one of those servers that when u look at the person it displays data about them, health, resources, armor ect

The health was displayed in percent, and armor in number...

I found a gorge whose health bar was in yellow, the round had just started, but it was in ventilation hive, so i just figured he had fallen or something... his health was a little less than half, however when i looked at his health percent, it said 100, and as i healed him, his health went over 100 percent, ending at a whopping 230 percent...

I asked him about it and he said it was a hack...

This is a hack i have never seen before, and i asked simply out of the thought it might be a bug...diddnt even expect him to reply that it was a hack...

Basically be on the lookout for this.... i forsee trouble if we run into onos with 300 armor and 1150 health......

Also i dunno how to notify the ppl at cheating death, but this is a pretty serious hack seeing as the advantage it gives to the player using it, id like to see it removed ASAP... thanks

    Maybe it's a server plugin?

Are you sure you weren't playing NS:Combat?

I don't think the combat beta servers have cd on them.

    Probably just a bug

i would say its just a probelm with the plugin and a guy messing with you, that plugin will often say a full hp onos(500) is at 500% hp

i know it was a regular server.. not ns combat as i dont have beta testing abilities...

that makes sense it might have been a bug.... but its odd that he was at exactly 100 percent health.. yet his health ring said a little less than half health...

And when i healed his health bar, he gained health ring also...

I understand it might have been a bug..... but how would a gorge have had 100 hp like 20 seconds into the game (we gorged right next to each other)

The health ring also takes into account armor so they can have full health and still be missing a few bars because they dont have any armor.

Possibly could be.... but i know he had 50 armor when i healed him.... and 50 when i stopped... armor had nothing to do with it.....

Basically it may be a hack, it may not, im not sure... but i do know it seemed odd to be just a bug, plus he told me straight out he hacked.... just watch out for it guys... a gorge with 230% health has gotta be hard to kill

It's just a bug, I've seen things like that happen before with the health bar.

I don't play in any servers with that plug-in though so I can't really say anything about it, the guy was probably just freaking with you, I wouldn't think too much of it unless it seems widespread.

He could be hacking, it's more likely he was joking and it was a bug.

there are plugins that will do almost anything in NS, often this give the impression someone is hacking, or explioting a bug, but 99% of the time it's just that the admin added a plugin, and you didn't know about it. On one of the servers I used to play on regulary, I joined a game one day, and all of the turrets were electrified, suffice to say this freeked me out until someone told me it was a plugin, since then I have seen tonnes of other plugins. I cant say i have seen a gorgehealth plugin (or any plugin that would product that effect) but I really doubt it's a new hack we have to look out for.

    [Edit]
P.S. It's a vetran joke to tell newbies that new plugins are hacks, it might be mean, but it's pretty darn funny to sometimes. Expecially when they freak out in l337 talk and threaten to have you banned from CAL.

There dose't seem to be a rime or reason to it but sometime's health is done from 1-100% and 100% is the highest even if said number gose over a 100, other times the % is just a number meaing "this player has 500 life" not its 500% the % sign is just there because thats what it's used to drawing.

He said that it went up to 230%. Even if it was just showing health points, instead of a percent, that is still 230 points of health on an alien that is supposed to have 150 health.

If you have played 2.1, you would know that that is absolutly nothing to be afraid of.

Most plausible theory: There was a bug in the display, the guy said he was hacking ment it as a joke.

    Why?

Because health is handled server side. Was a funny hack for CS that was popular among hard-core idiots for a short period of time, it would give you 999 health or something. Well, it would display the abnormal health, you wouldn't actually have it. Amuses me to think of someone using the 'cheat' then going: "WTH.. how did I die?! CHEATER!"

Actually, it was with the updated cheating death?

Then perhaps it's a bug with CD? I think this makes sense.
