<div class="IPBDescription">and how it affects you and everyone else</div> Why do we judge people to standards which are false? Is it human instinct to judge people or to judge yourself?
Basically, everything we do has judgment to it, so why does it carry over to other things which aren't as necessary?
The reason I am bringing this up is because I don't like to judge.

"Judge not lest ye be judged yourself"
The bible quote is an interesting one because it can be interpreted two ways... The first, more common way to understand it is that "you shouldn't judge people, or you yourself will be judged," thus being an statement to NOT judge people. Hoever, you judge people unconciously, there's no way around it (this is how stereotypes exist). So I believe what it says is that "you judge people, and everyone else judges you as well." Expect the judgement, the stereotypes, just as you yourself will automatically dish it out. It's not an unnatural thing, but it isn't exactly a good thing either.
I agree with this. However, I also think that while it may not be possible to abstain from judging entirely, it is possible to be aware of when one judges others, and then disregard those thoughts. By being self-aware of my actions, I can consciously decide not judge people, even though I am doing it unconsciously.
Also, while disregarding the judgment, I can gather more information on the topic at hand, and perhaps find out that, from my point of view, my judgment was at least somewhat justified, even though done unconsciously. Of course, it's also very possible that the judgment was completely unfounded, and in that case, I can alter my view.
