<div class="IPBDescription">Invalid SteamID</div> If you are trying to join a hlds hosted on your own computer, and cannot, try this:
Instead of using a public IP address, or 127.0.0.1, use the LAN address for your computer.
If you do not know this:
Win9x:
Start > Run > 'winipcfg'
Win2k/XP:
Start > Run > cmd.exe (or command.com) > ipconfig
In either, you should have something that says IP Address:
If you have a Linksys router, your IP address will probably be 192.168.1.xxx
This may also fix problems if you cannot join lan servers
