Hey folks, I remember there being threads on here with LOTS of Seburo-type weaponry. Unfortunately, they were scattered across a ton of different threads, and usually they were just artwork postings as attachments, one after another.
I'm looking for pics of weapons like the one below. Not models, per se, but pics similar to the one below if you know of any.

Well, I don't know the origin of the term, just what they look like. The "Banshee" pic up there is in the style of Seburo weapons. It's mostly the design of the grip(s) and the stock of the gun. They seem to flow together... they look strange, but fit well with your hands (supposedly). Sort of like the FN P90 (modern assault rifle).

seburo is a fictional weapon manufacturer (created by masamune shirow) established in Oct. 2024 .. the company seburo apears in lots of his mangas...first apereance was in the manga dominion tank police, then appleseed,and finaly ghost in the shell(published by seishinsha).... seburo is known for their highly ergonomic and smart designed multipurpose weapons. the most known weapon next to the seburo cx or Compact Xploder is the MN23 non lethal weapon system.
Official name for the project was "Project Moon Net". Its aim was to develop a firing system which allows single barrel to launch various types of non lethal bullet warheads. Before this project, launching non lethal bullet required the cartridge which had large bore and law muzzle velocity. Thus practically the use of this type of bullet was limited to guns which use 37mm, 10gauge, namely grenade and shotshell.
However the needs of non lethal bullet has been arising especially among those who took anti rioting action. In responding to such demand SEBURO took a part in developing gun design and MOON NET took a part in developing cartridge. Project MN has developed various non lethal warhead cartridges such as "Rubber stun" which opens in cross shape while in the air, "Adsorptive electronic stun" which damages electronic devices, "Liquid capsule" which contains anesthesia, "Powder bullet" which turns into particle on body surface and "Gas Bullet". These cartridges were designed for 10mm bore size from the initial stage so that they were called "10mm MULTI" in all.

With Prototype MN-10, 10mm received reputation for its practical use. However it's high cost prevents the GUN to be seriously taken as the official POLICE weapon. Only few of them was sold to police stations for the purpose of testing under unusual circumstances. Gradually technical feedback and mass production had been showing effect in lowering the cost of 10mm MULTI. Finally when the stable market supply was realized, weapon manufactures didn't miss the chance to go for 10mm in their production line.
SEBURO took advantage of 10mm MULTI and produced highly digitalized type MN-12. It automatically adjust its mechanical site in conjunction with its warhead type. It also has other specs as follows: Auto mode setting memory offers power save mode, auto shut off timer, auto decocking timer, mechanical mode and self timer. Display shows power on/off, battery remaining, cycle speed, full-semi burst cycle, cocking status, remaining bullets, cartridge type, mode position and auto lighting. ATR(Automatic Target Recorder) chip which activates either when the trigger is pulled and left the finger records aimed target for 5 seconds. Recorded images can't be seen on GUN's display. They are to be played on the master log simulator with several logs like shooting data. (The ATR mounted model was for POLICE use only.)
MN-12's advanced features, on the other hand, caused frequent trouble in the early stage. Low reliability with electronic parts was major obstacle for sales. However continuous improvement finally achieved high reliability with electronic parts and low cost in manufacturing. At certain point relatively high cost doesn't prevent its success in the market. Thereafter continuous improvement was done from MN-18 to 21 and made them claimed as the most advanced GUN in the market.
MN-22 is redesigned version of MN-21 and made for POLICE. Reliability, robustness, cost effectiveness are met at high level on behalf of it's very simple system design. It doesn't have customized function such as mode setting and adjustment for trigger reach, tension and travel. It has much simplified display and no auto sight adjustment. However ATR chip is equipped standard. The MN-22 was tested at POLICE and resulted converted version MN-23.

This model appreciated high reputation and officially equipped in many police stations. Although MN-23 is not available in market because of it's police specification, MN-24 which has almost every function but ATR chip is available as commercial model.
MN-23 has variety of types. Street name QUOLT, MN-23C, which is made for the use in limited room such as inside tank made a best seller. Those equipped with sound suppresser is called LUNGO, MN-23S, which became indispensable equipment for special forces. Each parts are detachable so that model C and S can exchange parts.

Still, nice concept, but as always I think its the skin that makes the model.
