Locked third person view

<div class="IPBDescription">While cocooned</div>I was thinking that it would be cool if (It seems that every thread I start begins with this line) the alien's view switched to a fixed (Non-rotating) 30 degree declination third person view of the gestating cocoon. This would give the alien something interesting to look at while evolving and give them just a little more feeling of helplessness when they see a marine about to fill them with lead.

There would still be the host of exploits that come with third person but the fixed rotation would cut down on that. No-one in their right mind would waste the resources on evolution just to see around a corner. To my knowledge there is no way to opt out of an evolution half-way through so there would be little benefit to having an early warning of an advancing marine.

I thought I saw a screenshot from inside a cocoon, and it was anything but boring.  There was this red mucous membrane covering the screen, and you could see through it. I wish I knew where I found it though.

Yes, that would be pretty nifty if you remembered where it was <!--emo&:p--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'><!--endemo-->.  Maybe you were dreaming it... With how much they've shown us if there's some remote pick of what it's like while evolving I'm sure they'd've put it up...right?

Not sure where there is a pic to show that, but currently that is how evolving is implemented in the game.  As soon as you choose a level to evolve to, a semi transparent membrane covers your screen, to give the illsuion that you are inside the gestation sac.  You can still look around a bit, but you can't move.  It's more immersive that way then being bumped into a 3rd person view.

Too bad you can't see through the gestation pod to see the alien's face when you plaster it to the floor and beyond! Heh heh. But anyways, I say teh fantome screenie 2, and it was pretty d4mn cool. I'd like to see it found and reposted on the readyroom for constant viewing.
