Steam Ns Crashes With Map Change!

I took a look around the tech support forums and I could not find anything so here it goes...

I have NS installed on steam, it is the copy steam made of my hl folder when I installed steam. Eveything works resonably well, bar map changes! When ever the map changes it crashes to desk top and I need to use the gamma resetter. I dont think that it is a hardware problem but here are my specs:

WinXP Home fully updated
GeForce 4 MM440 64mb 4x APG
512 DDR RAM
2.4 ghz p4
Lots of HD space
ADSL Internet

Does anyone have a similar problem or can some one direct me to a solution?

if you go to page 2, there are pleanty of posts (probably mith me as the last posteR) with the smae problem:

Know bug, its either being worked on or is fixxed in 2.1 (well I havn't seen any one have this problem in the beta)

note this realy isn't ripping into your persay, it is just that I have had to answer the same thing with nearly 20 other thread....

Sorry, it never struck me to check the second page, For some reason i though the mods kept this one really clean with all the inportant ones sticked and the other deleted after they were no longer needed sorry for the clutter, you can delete the whole thing...
