Jeez, what an incredibly difficult thing to force on us! I mean, I love Half- Life so much, but a hell of a lot of that comes from the mods (like NS, TS, They Hunger, etc.). Can we still have multiplayer? I might go out on a limb and say Deus Ex.
If we are allowed to get expansion packs/custom levels (not mods)... NeverWinter Nights... if not... I'd have to go with Halo cause it's the only thing my wife enjoys playing with me...
Elite or Frontier. I mean, I did play them for about ten years combined. And still wanted to play Frontier an awful lot more than I did, but my HD died and I lost the saved game I'd been building up for a few years...

GTA Vice City with a better computer (this one doesn't run it that well). Simple fact is that you can do lots of different things on that, and when that gets boring, you can simply kill lots of people. Just like in real life.
No game. Text role-playing is the world for me, thank you very much.
Actually, thinking about it, Morrowind would last me an age, but only if i get the expansions with it, also the modding tools, i can live without the mods, but no chance of customising it would kill me.

I'd say Deus Ex , or UnrealEd/WorldCraft if they stop crashing. Mapping is endless fun and endless frustration.
I would say, Yahoo Chess! After about 10 years of nothing but chess, you would become super good. But I think I would die before that would ever happen.
@ Jammer I love your Family Guy Ava. "Ahhh, tisssss, ooowwww, tissssss, ahhoo, tissss" LOL

I didn't like civ 3 THAT much, but among those I can think of, it would be Alpha Centauri(did that game get any mods? Hmm.) or Rise of Nations. EDIT: because you can "cheat add <unit>" to set up your own scenarios in a few moments in rise of nations, whereas AC is just screwy doing the same- not to mention they're very different games, after all.

Maybe the Sims - or something very customizeable to keep me entertained.
gamespy did give it 9.8 right?
it can't be that bad
Endless strategy, huge depth, lots to do and multiple difficulty levels.

Alpha Centauri
OR
Civ 3
I'd have so long I could learn the rules for both!

Xcom = the pwnage... If you include the Xcomutil utility, it involves endless fun that is different every time you play the game.
