It's okay, I've never beaten Super Mario Bros. 1 either. God, I stayed awake for about 4 hours getting to the last level only to have my **** kicked in by Bowser who had a constant stream of hammers coming out of his head.
Let me see here..... From Memory try to list EVERY SINGLE PC GAME I HAVE EVER BOUGHT.

I know there is more, I just can't think of them now, and its driving me crazy!
Started off on the NES with Super Mario Bros., Megaman 2 (OMG the difficulty!) and some other boring stuff (but still good)
Then I moved onto the PS, where I got some real neat games, though some are crap, and some are....not suitable :/
Moved onto PC, played Wolfenstein 3D, then Doom, then Commander Keen ( :O ) then switched back to PS to play other good game crap.
Then later I played both. First LAN game was Rainbow Six, then moved up to CS, then I found NS and ESF ( lay off the I hate dbz comments, I hate it too, and so does the coder) and then I found other great shiznit like WC3 <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
Sounds short, but actually I started playing NES since I was 2 or something then moved to the PS when I was like....6 or something....and my NES broke when I was 4 so no NES until that day when I got the PS....
ow that I mention it....where'd my Loderunner cart run off to?
My gaming first started on the old atari consoles and the origianl speccie, Jet Set Willy pwnz jooz!!11
My first multiplayer experience was Stunt Car Racer via parallel cable on the Amiga <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
When I was a really little kid, I didn't play many computer games. Mostly I just watched my dad play them. Oh, he offered me a go but I never wanted to. I think I was scared of losing, or dying in the game. The earliest game I can remember watching or playing was... some kind of 2d shoot-em-up (you know, you've got a dinky little spaceship and the screen scrolls up, and you collect powerups and whtnot) called Xeon, or something like that.
[edit]Just remembered. We used to have a Mattel Electronics Intellivision. I can't for the life of me remember where it is, now. We also used to have a pinball machine, but it broke (and couldn't easily be fixed\replaced). It was one of those oold ones, before the LED displays[/edit]
At the time, Dad had some games on the computer which I really wasn't that interested in. He liked ships, navy ships in particular (he was in the navy back in South Africa for a bit, I don't know how long for), so he had some naval games on the computer. I can only really remember "688 Attack Sub" and "Harpoon". 688 was, well, a submarine simulation. I guess you could call it the submarine equivalent of a flight sim. Harpoon was (I think) kiiiiind of a naval real time strategy game, with everything happening very slowly, and with the ability to control ships directly when in combat.
One game which I do remember playing with Dad was "LHX" (quite possible "LHX Attack Helicopter". Yes, I know, another "attack *something*"), which was a helicopter flight sim by Electronic Arts. In PC sound only. Back when EA's logo was still a cube, a cone, and a cylinder. Actually it was kinda fun. I don't think I ever played it by myself, but I think I flew a little bit during missions Dad was doing. You had to push the stick forwards to make the helicopter go forwards, and I remember doing that.
Another game Dad bought was Wing Commander II. I don't remember a lot about it (well, I've replayed it since then, but I don't remember much from at the time). What I do remember was when I did have a go, my first instinct was to push the stick forward to fly the spaceship forwards like in LHX. Dad got very agitated. At the time I thought it was a bit strange that he got annoyed (what else was I meant to think? In the only other flight-sim I'd ever played you go forwards by pushing forwards) and decided that WC2 was too complicated.
Others were Civilization (the original DOS version), Dune II (also the original version. My understanding is that the most common version is called "Building of a Dynasty"; our version was called "Battle for Arrakis"), and Railroad Tycoon. Railroad Tycoon was too complicated for me, and I wasn't interested (it was fun to watch, though). Civilization was great fun, and easy to play. My love of that game started very early <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->.
Dune II... well, I think for some reason Dad intended for this game to be in the same category as Harpoon, that is: The Games Dad Plays and I Don't category. I remember when I first saw Dad playing it, I asked what kind of game it was, what it was about, etc. Dad told me "It's about Eskimos". I don't remember whether he was teasing or being sarcastic; either way I didn't realise. I thought that was pretty cool. You wouldn't believe how long it took me to accept that Dune II, in fact, involved Eskimos in no way shape or form <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->.
I enjoyed Dune II very much. I didn't get very far into it. I couldn't; I just couldn't get past the levels <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->. I did have the idea of loading Dad's saved games and saving my own copies so that I could progress. Eventually I think I got the hang of finishing levels myself, but I could never catch up to Dad.
There were others. X-Wing, Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis. I remember seeing the original Privateer on demo at some games shop, and being absolutely awestruck. I also remember Dad saying we'd get it over his dead body.
Anyway, Dad never finished Dune II. He got up to level 8\9. I don't remember how long after that it was that we found out that he was ill.
I'll spare you the long and sad tale. Dad eventually died of complications with Hodgekin's Disease in 1994. I would have been... 9. 9, or turning 9 that year. Anyway, I eventually ended up finishing Dune II. And getting Privateer (how's that for irony?). Not sure how long after, but anyway.
Anyway, that whole story was, well, to say that I started early. Really early. To cut this meandering post short, my major milestones in gaming after that were:
Command & Conquer (once again, the original DOS mode <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->. Got it as a birthday present. We had to upgrade our computer from a 386 to a <b>whopping</b> <i>Pentium 90!</i>. See, we were staying ahead of the curve as C&C only needed a 486. Ha, we'd show them. We wouldn't have to upgrad in <b>ages</b>.
Ah... I miss that old tower case.
Ahem. Where was I?)
Played Doom 2 at a family friend's house (and thought it was awesome) and eventually borrowed a spare copy of Doom off a friend. Got Half-Life in highschool, and the same friend introduced me to TFC. I eventually settled on Spy. Joined a series of terrible clans which failed within a month or so without playing a single clan game (a state of affairs that has persisted to this day. Since my TFC days I've been in at least two other half-arsed clans (two NS ones) which never got anywhere. Uh... anyone recruiting? <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->).
Perfect Dark was my next big thing. Learned to dodge bullets there, took that into TFC, and became death incarnate.
There were other games; NetStorm, Dungeon Keeper, Return to Castle Wolfenstein (oh, yet ANOTHER dead clan on my record), Mechwarrior 2, Tie Fighter. Lemmings and Lemmings 2 are in there somewhere. Probably from my early days.
Anyway, I was delighted when NS came out. I was playing Firearms at the time, and wasn't playing it for much longer. I was actually trying to hone my melee skills in Perfect Dark in an attempt to get into a good TFC clan - I dropped that when I discovered Skulk. It wasn't all smooth sailing (<a href='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=1&t=9304&=52dddef89158ad2684fbd30d2721f34e' target='_blank'>rant</a>, circa nov 7 2002 <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->) but after that it was 0wnage <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->.
Aaaaaand now I'm waiting for the next NS patch. In the meantime I'm playing Wolfenstein Enemy Territory, reviving the old games I used to play, trying to game less and code more, and trying to get myself to do enough work to get through Uni.
