New to NS and have some q's
O.k I am not totally new to this game, I played this game A LONG time ago (I think it was v.1.1). Anyways I have the CS retail version, so is it basically the same installation process that NS used to have, that is that I can just use CS retail version and I don't need HL to run it? Or did they change it now and I need HL to run it? Also, is NS compatible with CS version 1.6 (I couldn't see a retail version of this on their website so I'm kind of worried) and steam? I haven't played CS in a long time either and I'm kinda confused about all these weird changes they made. Thanks in advance.

I'm pretty sure NS will work on CS retail, I don't think you need to buy Half-Life.

NS right now is compatible with steam it just takes a little work to get it started, the next release of NS, 2.1, will be completely compatible with steam and will be an official, steam supported mod with it's own background and automatic updates.

Oh, and welcome back to the community.

I can assure you that NS runs on CS retail - after all, that is what I play with. What worries me is that my computer has been in Tennisee for the last three weeks getting repaired...

    OT:

Sorry to hear it Dragon_Mech. My advice is to keep sending them emails and bombarding them with phone calls. COmputer support staff generally dont know what the hecl they are doing. I hope your hard disk as a recent backup dude. 7 times out of 10 they will format the hard disk as soon as any software problems are found.

    Some hilarious examples:
