Sadly, I can see this happening . . however, I dont think its worth implementing a scope in the LMG. Hey! maybe we could put a scope on the LMG with such a huge zoom that, when a player uses it, they can literally see 1 inch of the area they could see unzoomed. Heh heh, lets see a player fight with THAT! Really though, I love the way the LMG looks with the scope. Perhaps we could include "zoom deactivated for indoor use" in the tooltip, or something to that nature.

To roughly quote my self: <!--QuoteBegin--></span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td><b>Quote</b> </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE"><!--QuoteEBegin-->The LMG is the marines all purpose weapon. It is designed to do a number of tasks, from close urban fighting, to rain forest skirmishes, to tight fighting aboard a space station. In some of these situations a scope can be quite useful, but in situations where would not do much good (I.E. all NS levels) it is disabled to prevent someone fresh out of boot camp (I.E. a newbie) trying to snipe a skulk at a range of 3 metres and closing.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span id='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I have a feeling that playing as the marine will be spooky enough, we don't need a field of view constrction too?!?! <!--emo&:asrifle:--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/asrifle.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':asrifle:'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&:tiny:--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tiny.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':tiny:'><!--endemo-->
heh u dont have enough time to snipe, ns is an action pack, u keep runing from place to place, shooting, building until u die, then u respawn (and the cycle goes on) the point is that the maps dont have a good place to snipe......... u get pwned by all the aliens if u get a sniper rifle anyways, sniper would weight a lot, u would be slow, aliens chomp, u are dead <!--emo&:p--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'><!--endemo-->
I put the scope on there because I had some extra polys and I think scopes look cool <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->
But to rationalize it to myself, I said that the primary reason the optical pieces were there were to capture and relay visual data to the computer system bolted to the side, which tracks and fires at aliens when the marine goes into overwatch mode. Sure, there's an eyepiece for the marine, but it's just in case he's curious about what the computer sees.
Bah, true snipers do it without scopes! All you need is a steady hand. I do often in Deus Ex, and when I did play DoD. Then again, you almost never have a chance to snipe in NS. Those aliens more far to fast, and react. On the other hand, spray and praying works 50/50.
An awp is that green sniping gun in CS. Muchly overused and perfected, making it very annoying considering it either kills you the first shot, or slows you down, and their second shot is easy.
Eck I'm so sick of the Sniper Rifle trend in games today, every single game seems try and work one in some way. Which might be okay, but they always become the most overused gun in every game mostly because they're implented wrong and are basically railguns with a scope.
Reflex sights have an open top, they are like 2 little pastic or metal rods with a peice of glass inbetween, there is a projecter in front of the glass which lights the retical onto it.

Oh wait, you're *not* welcome to zoom, because there's no zooming. And trust me, you'll never miss it.
