Sounds Like Allegiance

I came along your site and decided to give it a shot. I am still downloading right now but from the description of your mod on the site makes this game sound alot like MS's Allegiance. This was a space based game with the same Idea of a commander, tech tree, and FPS environment. Did any of you guys play that game or use it for research?

The game is on it's last legs now do to a few cheaters. But it had a great 7 year run.

    Kind of interesting.

    On another note, I downloaded this game several weeks ago and I still can't connect to any servers. =\

    allegiance is better described as a space combat sim than a fps. And yes, the 'new' community-ran allegiance has been advertised here before (it all started with Flayra wanting to play that all of a sudden <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->). There was a sudden surge in allegiance nubbies a while back that were all ns-players <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Actually, it went so far that NS fans could get some sort of special offer for a short time. Too bad I was kinda preoccupied with RL stuff back then.

    It was a good game but the community went to ****. I used to run the main community site but gave up after being fustrated with the community.     I wasn't trying to advertise. I was just wondering if they got their idea from that game. 7 years ago it was the only game with that type of game play. So for this is the only other game that tries to tackel it.

    There was also gloom. But NS is NS, it is not a rip off of anything else. It is its own game =)

    By the way, welcome to the Natural Selection community, hope you find it more pleasent here than how you describe the Alligence community to have become. Just be warned about the Discussion Forum if you want to stay away from heat between people =)
