    speaking of extracting how can i do that with .rar files? how do i extract textures.

    first make it a RGB image (image --> mode --> RGB colour) then goto layer --> new --> layer from background.

    then, right mouse on the layer, goto blending options, click mode colour in the middle area select red from the colour bit and change the slider to how red you want it

    Make sure that the image is a BMP and is 256 colours.

    You have to make back into indexed color with 256 colors.

    And an easier way to change the color is [image>adjust>hue/saturation]. On black images check the colorize box.

    thats what happens when you change the colour of a super black skin... Only recolour skins that have a good amount of detail in them and are brightish.

    You can also brighten stuff up with the "colour dodge" tool.

    Problem with photoshop sometimes is that when you fiddle with the saturation, you can't save it as a proper bmp that HL will recognise, and then when you convert it to a working bmp you lose most of the definition.

    Took me a while to make the red runner teeth precisely because of this.
