<div class="IPBDescription">Buggy seiging of vent hive in NS_Hera</div> A notable game I have played involved the Marines setting up seiges to assult the Vent hive in NS_Hera. However, there were two DCs that were put down before the hive, so something wierd happened: The machine targeted the hive, the explosion too high above to do anything to the DCs or me, and since they were pinging the hive, there were rest periods.

Therefore, I spend half the game with Adren healspraying the hive. I don't get killed, and the hive doesn't go down, even with 5 seiges on it. The Marine team was so ****.

So, I have to ask.... Tactic or Exploit?

    Erm, I fail to see the exploit. Its actually possible to build a hive under siege fire with properly placed DCs and gorges.

    5 sieges? They should have just went in and beat you up. You did nothing wrong. They need to learn from that lesson.

    they shoulda recycled their sieges and dropped a few GLs <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> sounds fine to me.

    I don't know who the **** could call that an exploit. If the marines are too dumb to get around that, then thats their own fault.

    I've managed to keep the vent hive (in NS_Hera) alive for much longer than it should have by dropping chambers into the water that the sieges will shoot at first. Constantly healspraying the hive helped too. In the end they built 10 sieges to take it down and by that stage I couldnt afford to drop any more chambers.

    Wait, I never understood how anybody is able to healspray a hive as it gets sieged. I can understand keeping the hive alive -- healspray heal 100 health per spray.

    But it seems like I die to siege cannon a LOT. I don't know why, but i'm pretty much the only guy who does... <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Splash damage from sieges has a very small vertical range, so if you're below or above the object its firing at you rarely get hurt. You have to be on the same level to die, so if you stay in the right spots sieges can't touch you.

    That's what the marine team was all in a snoot about: Since the seige only hit the hive, and that was far too high up to kill me or the defense, they thought we had an invincible hive.

    I don't know why but nobody seems to be aware of the fact taht Gorges can heal hives for TREMENDOUS amounts of Health. Three gorges healspraying a hive effectively give it nearly 600 Health a second in healing.
