After these memorys...

I then go back, double click on VHE..and the magic that has built up is drained through exit points around the finger tips. until the dry up re-occurs..in which the process is started again (some months later). <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd-->
A technique I can also swear by. Sometimes you have to re-tread your grass roots.

Can someone sticky this? Maybe even switch it to the newbie mapping forum and sticky it? I think its a good source for new mappers and for other mappers to get inspiration and start their own level.

I haven't mapped much and i'm currently working on my first NS map ever. This time i'm actually builing my map brush by brush and optimizing it with the clipping and vertex tool. I just map and map and map when i find time and when i feel like mapping. My map is getting bigger and bigger for every day and the compile time is incredibly low for this size map. Only like 15 mins on a 650 mHz 128 mb RAM machine <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
I drawed my entire map on a piece of paper but allready know when about 60% is done, i can see it whon't follow that drawing at all. There are more space between the rooms than i thought so i'll just add some cool detail rooms there.

I don't start maps. They make themselves. I merely aid the process.
Rooms just appear from ideas of cool features I have. Other rooms, hallways and such appear afterwards. I drew a plan once, and decided it was a stupid idea and went back to mapping.
