<div class="IPBDescription">Nooo! This can't be happening!</div> Okay, I've been waiting a very long time for a truly amazing game to play. Fallout and Deus Ex were the last great RPGs I played -- probably the only two I've finished, unlike Morrowind.
So now I see <a href='http://www.lucasarts.com/products/swkotor/' target='_blank'>Knights of the Old Republic for PCs</a> is in stores as of today,
<a href='http://www.deusex2.com' target='_blank'>Deus Ex 2's supposed store release date is December 3rd</a> but <a href='http://www.fileplanet.com/promotions/the_war/' target='_blank'>may be available as early as November 20th,</a>

How does one choose?

I beat KOTOR in the week I had it(not to say its short- its DAMNED LONG, and fun, but... well, the story seems like its dragging somtimes), and it was great. But I've heard things about Deus Ex 2 thats just amazing to me. Its supposed to be a futuristic Morrowind, but 10x heavier on story. How do you get better than that?!

As a poor university student, I've scraped enough money together to purchase it. Kotor is really very decent as well, Marik. I'm not quite sure whether or not I'll get it for PC as one of my roomates already has it for Xbox. Very tempting, but it'll put a dent into my splurge fund.
I won't be missing a chance to shamelessly plug in the Jagged Alliance 2 Expansion (not UB), coming out in 2004. I'm also keeping a close ear to the ground for JA3 as well. Hooray for Sir Tech.

The Wildfire expansion for JA2! I completely forgot! I'm only 1/3 through the game and have no idea why I stopped for a bit (oh yeah, it was Max Payne 2...and Tron 2...but whatever.) More gaming goodness overload!

Im calling my friend in the US, I'll wire him the money for it, as well as postage and packaging.
THERE IS NO GOOD REASON FOR SUCH A HUGE DIFFRENCE IN RELEASE DATES WHEN WILL YOU LEARN PUBLISHERS.

Yeah, who wants an original story line and plot when you could have players running around with guns... shooting each other... again...
KOTOR is an awesome game, a great game, a fabulous game. It's also of a decent length, the longest save on my Xbox HD says 34 hours 12 minutes ...but I didn't finish all the quests, and I was just fooling around for a while there. You also have the good/evil replayability....or, I'd suggest real life decisions/evil decisions/good decisions. So it can be long, but only has 2/3 replays.
Deus Ex is seems to be far more open ended, and I wouldn't be sure about the length, but I'd go so far as 1 game would be at least 12 hours, and you'll probably play it a quite a few times. It also has a physics engine, and it'll probably look better than KOTOR's scenes.
Both are good, I'd buy both....actually, I want to buy quite a few games, but I'm poor.
(Call of Duty, Blitzkrieg, Deus Ex 2, KOTOR (for my Xbox), Morrowind GOTY (also Xbox), Ghost Recon (also my Xbox....see how long it's been since that came out?), Half-Life 2 (...yea), Halo 2, RAM for my comp and CD/RW for my comp...)
I also want to get that Zelda Gamecube bundle, despite the fact I don't think it has the SNES Zelda (THE BEST FREAKING ONE)...and then there's Resident Evil, Metroid Prime (although I dunno if I'd want to get that after that speed run thing, rent it at least), maybe that Mario game...and definately Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem (although it'd be better if I hadn't checked out quite so many of those 'insane quirks' it has...hopefully it has more than when I stopped reading).

Honestly I think they're crap....I'd play it without the voice if it had the option :/
BTW, I feel sorry for Maus....but I think Im even unluckier, I think it'll hit Hong Kong late so meh....got lots of time to waste....
As for what you want Marik....you have to decide it yourself, follow your heart (BS!) and just buy the things you want, unless you really intend on buying presents for your relatives, which if you think is necessary, then it is necessary.

Amen. Don't get me wrong, the small kid voice fits Wind Waker perfectly, but I am very angry towards the big N in regards to how they just threw in the pansy Link voice in Link To The Past, as it made Badass Link sound like Pansy Link. I mean in Link To The Past, Link was in his late teen (i.e. almost an adult) years, he wasn't 8...

Most quests are obtained in some kind of order from a specific faction, who will not give you higher up quests until you are a certain faction rank, requiring you to have done enough quests for all the various branches of that faction. This pretty much ensures that you're a high enough level for your quest, since you gain skill points on the missions.
As for the storyline, yes the early missions were a bit boring. It gets much better, trust me <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

Thats a good reason I suppose, but then again I'm not too excited about Deus Ex. The first one was good, but there were just some irritating things about it.
