<div class="IPBDescription">To make the best of you mapping</div> If you have watter in your map, and want to build your minimap, but have problems here is what i have found you can do
save the map as something dif ie mm_yourmapname.rmf (.map)
strip out all the watter (and other obstruction entitys)
complie the map with fast (or no vis) no rad, and run buildminimap
goto your minimap folder
copy/rename your minimap to your maps real name - ie co_yourmapname.spr
go to find/search, and enter the name of your minimap map, ie mm_yourmapname.*
delate all the finds (check through that its not a system resource, or other ipormant file)
done
hope it helps with those of you that have wired minimap builds
no/low disk space - made lots of maps?
If your compling from inside hammer/wc then the complie tools make lots of files that you don't need, and can sometimes take upto 50mb's of diskspace on a 4 meg bsp
run find/search and enter *.p0, *.p1, *.p2, *.p3, *.pts, *.prt, *.err, *.wic *.lin
dealte all the restults (check that they are not system, or critcal files)
then goto your saved maps folder (where you save your rmf/map), and dealte the .log files (and .bsp files)
if you run batch complie by nem, then check these options under the batch tab
Speed up your complie times
Run scan disk 1 time amonth, along with defrag - your disk will become fraged quicker if you complie lots
if you run a nt based system - open up program manger
go to processors
right click on the complie program, and select proirty
set it to realtime
proirty only stays with the program while its runing that instance, so if you close hlcsg you will have to set its proirty level again the next time you run it
