Knifing Tips?

<div class="IPBDescription">...gotta have style</div> Hi, I'm not (too much) a nub, but I am trying to get knife kills for style's sake.

I weaken them with bullets, but pegging that final slash is a real pain.

Any knifing tips or strategies?

    <b>Crouching and jumping</b>. Trust me. Oh, and circling around structures (like an RT), and then suddenly turning around, jumping to the side, and slashing them. Most Skulks won't bite crazily if they know you're trying to get a knife kill =)

    Eggs are good targets for knifeing :-) . What works well too is if a skulk is eating one of your RTs and he starts playing "ring around the rosey" with you when you shoot at him pull out your knife and chase after him. The RT will block most of his bites if your lucky, or he will run away from your knife into the open where you can shoot him.

    Theatrics are the spice of life, shooting people is getting old. Unfortunately, I don't get what Eidolan was saying.

    Wouldn't getting close with an inferior close-range weapon be more to the skulks favor?

    Hey, there's nothing wrong with theatrics and 'ballets of death', as long as you don't get yourself killed.
    Crouching, jumping, and strafing. The worst thing to do is perhaps to attack head-on and hoping you click the mouse before he/she does.

    Secret to knifing: Have a better ping.

    I have, NEVER been knifed on equal ping except where I'm already badly damaged (like on 10 health or so). However, I get knifed fairly often when LPB's are involved against my HPB.

    So the secret is, get some ping then target the guy with the highest ping on the server=WINNAR.

    If a skulk is biting your totally cramped base it is usually easier to stab him than shoot him. Otherwise, jump to the side and always hold in fire while trying to keep the skulk in the center of the screen.     If your going to knife be agressive, dont back backwards. Get on top of the skulk, and dont let off. Crouching and jumping helps.

    most skulks bite crazily at ur feet,
    by crouch juping in random directions over their head i get heaps
    of knife kills.
    It all gets hard when u are after the ever elusive knife onos.
    That requires some real teamwork and some bs luck.

    When all hope in a game is lost, I drop all my weapons and charge hopeing for that knife onos kill. I remmember the good ol' days of 1.04 when a vanilla rine could weld a fresh skulk before the beast could say "crap, not the disgrace of a welder kill!" But, times have changed and the skulks of today are more fiesty and it's been a while since I've gotten that melee kill. Now all I do is sit in my rocking chair with my shottie across my lap and a bottle of whisky in my hand, waitin' for the tax men to come for me. I'll show them a thing or two about knifein' people!

    (sorry about the pointless ramble, I have no idea why I wrote it.)

    I usually try to crouch jump over them and look down as they charge me, they run under me and I get a knife slash and they miss.

    Best way to knife is to shoot a lmg clip into them, half a pistol clip than pull out the knife.     The best way to kill soemthing with a knife is to shoot it a few times then knife it. With skulks, wait for them to charge you ehad on (Dunno why so many do this with a knife) and sidejump then knife him in the ****. With gorges, empty a LMG clip into himt hen slash. Fades are tricky, you have to have buddies. Corner him, shoot a few LMG bullets into him and then strattle him like the Croc Hunter and pray to god he doesn' chop your testies off. For Onos, slash and pray all the way. As for lerks, good luck!

    Bring friends... lots of them, all swinging their knifes like madmen. Heavy armor helps.

    On a side note, I got a welder kill against a trapped Onos... a bunch of HAs surrounded him and we welded him to death.

    I got a knife kill on a stuck Onos... big suprise.
