So if i take the cheaper one when the package arrives to my countrys post i pay there and seller receives the money?And i cant register in ebay, im under 18. Currently all i can offer is 20€, Wouldnt enyone wanna sell me Copy of Alien Crossfire(and maybe Alpha Centauri) to me for that price?
Id like to find a copy of Dues Ex that still has an instruction manual and case.
Walmart (I know, I know..its American) had a package of games for $20 that had both Alpha Centauri and Alien Crossfire on it (as well as Red Alert 2, Sim City 3000 Unlimited, and Some golf game), I believe it was called the Laptop Pack.
Total Annihilation That is still one of the best RTS games ever, EVER. What more can you ask? Launch armies of 1500 tiny units and watch as the entire map is turned to ash... Only problem is there is no end game weapon... Closest you can get the the Rapid fire plasma cannon... But it has short range and dies easy. If you haven't played this game yet, play it now, NOW NOWNOW.
games: Deus Ex, Thief II: The Metal Age, Tomb Raider: Chronicles, and Commandos 2: Men of Courage
price:$10
I recently bought that pack, along with American McGee's Alice, Hitman 2, and another pack that included Baldur's Gate, Planescape, and Fallout 2 from there for a grand total of $70, including shipping. that's 9 games, at least half of them worth playing, for the price of 1 and a half. Of course I'll never get around to playing even half of them... =P
I want a copy of Robo Rally with all the expansions. I know it's on E-Bay, but I don't have that kind of money.
Ogre Battle/Ogre Battle 64 (64 is sold but very expensive and rare) Final Fantasy 3 on Gamecube Tie Fighter, original/remake (the remake is very sharp)
And for those older games that have become freeware, download them for free at http://www.the-underdogs.org. They're rated too, so its a good place to play good games that you've never heard of. AYou might be surprised as to which games are available there.
it's a warhammer game... you control a squad of space marines, and your walking down hallways with powerfists and chainguns and stuff... i think i was playing it on a windows 95 system, but it might have been even older than that... as i was playing "KEEN" at the same time...
(if anyone wants Cornmander keen, let me know if it's one of those "old game" freeware game... cause i've still got it on disk)
We'll see if anyone actually can find these games
System Shock 2, anyone? The game that never got any recognition for its worth
Del i beleve the game is Chaos gate. The best bloody warhammer game. I looked everywhere after i got the demo of that. It is so freaking awesome. I hope some day i do find it.
Dr. Shaggy, isn't copyright guaranteed for 75 years AFTER the death of the designers? Wouldn't that make it still copywritten? I thought the whole 'abandonware' legitimacy was sketchy at best - and not allowed here. I may be wrong.
All i found was Alpha Centauri , not Alien Crossfire expansion *sniff*

Bah. I've still got the full version, on CD, of SS2. Great game... and the group setting out to update it to high-poly models is working absolute wonders, though the Midwife model needs to be a lot more skeletal and a lot less skin to preserve the original fear factor involved.

Also, not all of the games are for download, many of them only have links to buy them.
Heh, I have the original Tie-Fighter, whats this you say about a re-make? The one I have runs on DOS and thus I can't play it on my XP machine .
The game I want, Xenogears! You can get it of amazon for 60 bucks but I want cheaper.
Abandonware isn't legal per se... however, websites like theunderdogs.org and Bunny Abandonware (just pimpin' out a friends site!) work off the goodwill of the copyright owners, OR, that the cost of chasing down these copyright violations would be more than what is worth to them.
A pretty good sumnation of abandonware issues can be found on this FAQ. Some good things to know:

QUOTE

Abandonware - What is it?
It's a very simple concept that quite a few people seem to have a lot of difficulty grasping. Let's say you are looking to buy a game that you played when you were a kid... Kings Quest or some other god awful Roberta Williams game (sorry bunny . You contact Sierra only to find that they don't sell the game anymore - where do you go? You may find it in a bargain bin or in the budget section of some little computer store somewhere if you're lucky.. but what if you can't?
Enter Abandonware =)
Abandonware refers to software that is no longer sold by its copyright holder (we'll come back to this in a minute). Some abandonware webmasters may build on that definition:
"No longer sold by the copyright holder and over 5 years old" "Has not been sold by the copyright holder for 2 years"
But it is important to remember the most important part - NO LONGER SOLD. The reason that copyright holder is emboldened above is that this is the part that many people have trouble with.
So both Abandonware and Warez are illegal.. what's the beef? Why don't you just put any games on the site?
Well, stealing a ferrari and stealing a head of lettuce out of the trash behind a supermarket are both illegal, but can you see the distinction? The only thing that ties Abandonware and Warez are that both involve free, illegaly copied software (and it is the free part that some people unfortunately can't get past). True abandonware enthusiasts WANT to buy the games or obtain them in some legal way, but the publishers don't give us any way to do it. That is their right you might say, but we consider computer games as an art form of the 20th/21st century and so have taken it upon ourselves to preserve classic games.
We are pragmatists, we are aware of the possible consequences but the idea of these little works of art being lost forever is a crime in our eyes (some companies, notably Sierra, don't even own copies of some of their older titles).

We are going to do what WE believe is right.
Anyway, back to the original point:
Abandonware = Preservation
Warez = Freebies
