Seethrough Vs. Illusionary...

When making details that the marines on the ground will see, but things that will be kept hidden to the Commander, what is better to use; a func_seethrough, or a func_illusionary with the "Invis from top down" setting checked and a clip brush? Also, if using the latter method, should the clip brush cover the entire area, or just make the clip brush big enough to keep the player from getting to the detail area?
