How Do You Play Demos?

My first post... to play demos in halflife simply type, "/playdemo (Demo name)" in the console... :-)

well if a demo was recorded with a won client, you must use a won client. if it was steam, the steam it.
type in the console "playdemo <demoname>.dem" or if that crashes, "viewdemo <demoname>.dem
(the demo file must be in the folder of the mod that the demo is from)

Some WON recorded demos can be played in Steam, but most of the time they can't.
