My mouse just started shaking. like it moves back and forth up and down about 2 pixels each way, and it just keeps doing that. even when i dont move it.

My mouse does that kinda, if you leave it alone it will travel across the screen in a diagonal line. It's fun to watch. I'm a very bored person most of the time.

My mouse does that every once and a while, its a first generation optical mouse (and I'm guessing thats what yours is too), and I always fixed it by moving it really fast for a second.
Reminds me of the time my mouse battery exploded. Was just surfing the net with my logitech cordless optical, and it just went *pop* and shook a bit, and all the battery juices started oozing out. Luckily the mouse didn't break or anything, stopped useing the batter though.
I had that happen with my Wacom tab as well... Except it happened when I was trying to fly a helicopter in Desert combat... That was a nasty landing :/ I find that with a tablet, that you should keep the pen away from it when not in use, this also deters people from picking it up and moving it around on the pad when you are trying to do somthing.

Sometimes with my Optical the laser freaks[I think due to my mouse pad] and zooms to one direction and keeps going. So in NS and stuff sometimes I'll turn around real quick, like a blink of an eye quick, and I get totally confused. Also, it sometimes goes Diaganol so I quickly look up and keep spinning uber fast. I should record a Demo.

i've got an infa-red mouse and it does sommat like that occasionally. It was driving me mad as to why, then i found out a har was getting stuck on the laser, and messing it up. Whoops.

Or more likely you exited a program where you were moving the mouse and Windows is having a fit.... maybe.
Or then you should feed it more often. It could die you know?

Seriously though, I think you should
1) Restart, no help?
2) Reinstall mouse drivers, no help?
3) Buy new mouse
Spell my name right >_<
my wacom pad pen fell off its stand and rolled onto the pad, so it was interfering with the mouse pointer, sending two signals at once.
heheheehe
