Do Your Dreams Seem More Real Than Reality?
Okay this is not a matrix discussion okay?No blue pill,no red pill,no "The one" thing.
Ive had some damn interesting dreams in the past.Of course since im a lazy **** i didnt write them down, and they fade from my memories. But lately, and by lately i mean in the past month or 2,ive had a couple of very interesting dreams. After waking up,i feel that these dreams are more "right" than "reality".When in those dreams,i felt that i was supposed to be there, doing those things in my dream.I feel that my current life is WRONG somehow...but i cant really put my finger on what is wrong.I just FEEL that its wrong somehow, and i desperately want to fix it,but i cant.....these dreams make me feel that way.
Have you had dreams that make you feel this way?
P.S.No,i didnt dream about the matrix.

I had a dream last night that I had a Big full Mustash and when I woke up this morning I was shocked when Ilooked in the mirror because it wasn't there.
It seemed very real that I had one though.
Yes I have had alot of dreams where they seemed like they were SO REAL!
For example, one time I had a dream that some guy was trying to kill my cat, so I tackled him (I'm a big guy and wouldn't be afraid of tackling an offender) and he folded in half at his waist backwards. Then to avoid getting into trouble with police or somebody, I put him in the back of a car, took him to a special planetarium-type facility (big dome and such) with a lazer reflecting around the walls. I pushed him into the laser and he gibbed like in Halflife. Was very interesting to say the least.
One REALLY damn bloody strange dream went like this : The setting was in old times with swords and stuff.I think...china or some place like that. This guy comes to the house im in and kills everyone.Very gory.Blood freaking everywhere.I dont remember what happened, but for some reason i end up his follower or something. We then end up travelling, and i remember going to sleep on wet grass, and it felt so damn real.Wet grass! And then we went somewhere....and thats all i can remember.
chemically, have you changed your diet lately?
a B6 vitamin deficiency makes you not dream clearly, but extra of it makes dreams extremely realistic, exciting, memorable and longer. i often take a few b6 supplement if i stay in on a saturday night and wake up sunday happy with my entertaining night.
But luckily it went away after I slept again the next night
EDIT: If you feel it strongly I'd advice a psycholog, they can probably explain what's happening <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
And dreams arent irrational
*shock horror* maybe things are not all that rational, maybe you cant apply rationality to everything!! *shock horror*
I don't remember any dream.
But I do remember this, 1 min before I woke up, I KNEW I was sleeping. Pretty weird, it was all black, and I layed in bed, above me was this little flame wich I tried to grab. I remember raising my hand.
And then I woke up.
Ooh, I once had a dream when I was about 14 that I had two Metallica - And Justice For All concert tour tickets, and I gave one to this girl in an envelope with a letter inside. These friends who I never knew in the "real world" and I were at some place where there was an earthquake, and we got stuck in a hallway of a building that had previously been hidden by a brick wall. I guess we did something and walked right through to a jungle. We couldn't find our way back to that hallway to try to dig back, so we just walked around this place. The dream was about a year long, and we built a very good shelter to stay in out there while we waited for help. At the end of the year I was out trying to find food, and I walked between two trees or something, and I came out in the middle of a new car lot. I tried to find my way back to bring them with me, but I couldn't find it. I just walked home and figured I'd try again later. I went to sleep in my bed, and woke up in my bed. No way of distinguishing the dream from reality for hours. My mom thought I was nuts because I kept telling her I needed a ride out to the car lot.
Anyway, I went back there in a dream when I was about 20. I was with some new friends that I didn't know in real life, and we found an old abandoned hotel, looked like it was abandoned during some kind of police raid or something. Boxes of food laying everywhere, everything a mess, there were vines and greenery hanging everywhere and coming out of cracks in the walls. So, we started looting it. I found a book on one of the top floors that for some reason I wanted to open. When I did, I started reading about these three people that got lost in some kind of dimensional rift (us). I passed out and one of my friends from that first dream from when I was 14 woke me up. I couldn't believe I was seeing them again, and I actually missed them. We went back to the shelter, which was pretty much a fully built house now, and we ate. The girl, without saying anything, handed me an envelope, and I pulled out the concert ticket and the note, read it and remembered it word for word. Freaked me out. I stuck the note in my pocket and we sat down and talked. Anyway, I can't remember much of what we did, mostly just I was telling them that I thought it was only a dream because I had no proof that it wasn't. One of my friends, at this point, became a nudist. I guess I couldn't blame him, living out in a jungle for six years or something, I made a comment he didn't like and he said "Hey, nudism is hereditary." Anyway, later on I was out in the rain just looking at everything, and my friend comes up behind me. He says "There's nothing here for you anymore, we're all stuck here and we can't get out. there's no reason for you to be stuck too." he handed me an apple, and told me it was from someone they met, who gave them a whole basket of them. They were supposed to let us all go home, but when I found my way out on my own, I destroyed the pathway or something, so the apple would only work for me. I took a bite, and went to sleep on a rock in the rain. I woke up in a heavy cold sweat, but my clothes were dry. Later that day I went to throw my jeans in the laundry, before putting them in, I found a piece of paper in my pocket. It had ink on it that was washed out from getting wet. For all I know, the same note I put in my pocket in the dream. That one shook me up for a good week.

Because they only use 4% of their brain at once?
Sorry but that doesnt really show me anything.
I'm dont know alot about science but I do know that there is no way memories can get transfed, especially not from a wolf to a human. Even if it was logical and had reason.
But hey, if I suddenly felt trapped in the wrong body and had obsessive dreams about wolves, I'd rush down to the nearest shrink.

Sure there is. Ever heard of a soul? It IS possible we all have one that travels with us from body to body throughout our existence.
And you probably wouldn't because to you nothing is wrong with you. That being said, nothing is wrong with that.

Sorry, all perception is in the brain
Well, maybe subconciously (or even conciously) <--SP?, you want whatever it is you were dreaming about to be real so much that your mind tries to deny that you live in the "real" world.
I find it funny how dreams make so much sense when you just woke up, but 15 minutes later you realise, "What the f**k was that all about??", although they're not nearly as bad as when you dream about believeable things, like once I dreamt I had a lucky hat and I always wore it; it took me half an hour to convince myself i've never owned a single hat, let alone a lucky one.
I don't dream much anymore, which is a shame because the one's I do have can be very cool sometimes. Probably because I haven't had a full night's sleep in months.

MMm same things happenign to me...
Maybe it sounds weird, or maybe I'm just crazy.
But a couple of weeks ago, I had the same feeling again. The feeling that tells you that you're dreaming.
I saw a purple light in the darkness wich was getting bigger. And the I woke up.
Very weird and just a theory, but I thought it was the path to my dream.
I really met the girl of my dreams... as in, she's seeping into my dreams. It's weird, but thats how I came to like her.
Now to get her to date me.... :P
Not kidding. I dunno why it keeps sticking in my memory. It was about my mother leaving me. About a year later i could see it was nothing really bad at all <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> It just still stick to my brain.
Anyway sometimes i also dream a dream like i see a movie. Then the ending, the 'camera' fly's to the sky while filming the head person (me) doing something and then it fades to black and shows me the credits screen.

and so on <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
And sometimes i also know when i'm dreaming and then when i'm about to wake up suddently im in this white huge drawer. (next to lot's of other drawers each holding persons about to wake up) and then the drawer is pulled out and i wake up <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
Sometimes i also dream i can fly. Who haven't tried that?

Yes, it might be plausible to hope to believe on a very faint chance that you have a 'soul' that 'stores your memories'...
Except scientists and neurosurgeons have and can show you that loosing a part of your rear brain or hypothallamous will cause incredibly massive and permenant memory loss. Dying and your brain decaying into dust sorta does the same thing...
I also go through the "Half awake/Half asleep stage" where I can still see the room, but I am dreaming that I am laying in my bed, and my mind plays tricks on me. Also, creepy.
LOL, one time, when I was sleeping with my EX in the same bed, I was dreaming that I was fighting somebody and pushed her off the bed.....well, now I see that she deserved it <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
When I truly want something, like a playstation or something stupid. Sometimes in a single night I'll dream 15+ times that I just went out and bought one. And every time, I wake up and immediately question how real it was. Really depressing to find out it's never true tho :/
And I was hoping to beat ElectricSheep to this phenomena, but apparently I'm not alone.
I have dreams that I wake up from, but don't realize I've woken up from. I continue to act out the dream (in the REAL world) for up to a minute in most cases. Every single one of these is extremely terrifying in nature which adds to the heart pounding effect. This has happened to me at least 20 times in my life. Let me share one such dream with you all to let you know just how scary it can be.
In this particular dream. I'm lying on my bed doing something, I don't really remember what but that's not important. The important part is that I have in my possession a device that can "delete" things from the world. Cars, walls, computers, you name it, it can delete it. Well for some reason this device which closely resembles a tv remote gets lost in the covers and I roll on it or something in such a way that it's just randomly deleting things from my room.
Here's the part where I wake up for real but keep playing out the dream.
So I get up and start frantically looking through my bed sheets for this thing. I get the notion that it's deleting vital organs from my body. I can FEEL the sensation that my stomach is already missing. I know that if I don't find this thing soon that it WILL delete my heart and I will die right here and now. I continue searching through the sheets like a madman for about 30 seconds before I realize it was just a waking dream (this wasn't the first one so I was familiar with the experience). But that didn't help the extreme sense of death nearby from fading. and it didn't stop my heart from pumping so hard that I could hear it clearly with my inner ear.
Now I know that as far as dreams go that isn't so bad. People die in their dreams all the time. But I want to emphasize 1 thing. When you're in a dream, most of the emotions and thoughts you feel seem disconnected in some way. Like it's you watching yourself thinking/feeling these things. But this feeling of death was happening while I was awake. I can't describe just how real all of this seemed. But I can guarantee that there was absolutely none of that disconnected feeling at all. Not even a smidgen.
So yeah, the line between reality and fiction can easily be blurred <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
