<div class="IPBDescription">Not NS related, Feel free to bump to OT.</div> Recently I set up Office XP's voice recognition stuff. Got it all trained up and whatnot. It's actually pretty accurate.
I got bored with it and disabled the language bar but recently I've noticed that my computer was running sluggishly. I thought it was my FTP server but nothing changed when I disabled it. I checked the process list and there's this "sapisrv.exe" sitting there hogging up 35+ meg of memory. With google and randomnine's and help on #ns we discovered it was voice recognition server. So I kill it and bingo, instant performance boost.
However it's taken to starting itself back up again for reasons unknown. It isn't listed in the XP services list (Not obviously anyhoo).
Anyone know how to disable this for good short of deleting sapisrv.exe? Or renaming it for that matter.

It keeps starting itself back up occasionally even though I've disabled it in word. I've renamed and moved the sapisrv.exe file without effect. I just recreates a new one in the same place.
Any suggestions?

If windows likes a file and always replaces it, you gota do a search for hidden files also
there will be a copy of it somewhere
rename that <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
Then put it in place of the other file <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
This works wonders with adware supported programs too <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
There's nothing in msconfig about it either.

If that doesnt work make a batch file that deletes it, then have that run when the computer starts
I created the zero byte file and made it read-only but it still overwrote it.
Any more suggestions?
