Shell Eject Ports

<div class="IPBDescription">Give me advice on where it should go/</div> Below is a gun I am working on for an LMG. The blue part is where the clip will attach. So basically where do you think the shell ejector should go for either looks or 'functionality'. Also feel free to critizise/give ideas on the model in general, although it is no where near completion.

    Perhaps on the top and too a little back of where the magazine goes.

    Also i think it looks pretty cool.

    I see how you hold it with the 2 handles, but besides where you put your hands how do you shoulder it to fire it?

    There isnt really a butt stock if you know what I mean,

    or dont you hold it that way? Maybe its held lower from the hip or something?

    Either way it looks nifty <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Spiffy!! <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

    I think the ejection port would look good on the top. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    And yes it is WIP.

    I am being poked with a measuring tape, in the ear.

    If its at all possible I'd say on the other side of the gun, directly in line with the mag. Cause if the ejector is on top and a 'rine goes and trys to snipe with it, he'll get brass in the face.

    I would say : caseless ammunition!

    Btw...the ammo clip right in front of the chest?
    Even with a buttstock,this thing would be a pain to reload.

    Not really, about as hard as loading an AUG during a fire fight.

    I took your idea on this one. The grey part is the part of the ejector that will slide. I also added a 'buttstock' sort of shape to the back of the gun.

    Looks nice, but maybe a little higher. At that hight if you factor in the angle and velocity it will hit his arms if you raise it about 1/2 an inch it should clear.

    even caseless ammo needs a ejection port to unload the weapon, remove faulty rounds and dirt from the combo..ahm... combu...arrhh.. cumbostion ( <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> silly lil japanse) of the charge... even the g11 got a ejection port on the underside of the weapon <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->.
    btw... where is the magazine of the weapon? maybe its a "throw away" system.. fire it dry, and throw it away.. marines dont need to reload,they dont live long enough <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Keep in mind that most people are right-handed and it would not be too nice to have hot metal casings tossed at you. If you put in on top it will fly into your face if you're moving forward and if on bottom you could slip on the casings. If you go caseless they you wouldn't really need to worry about where the ejection port goes since it is basically a block of explosives with a projectile in it. Go without it or put it on the right side of the weapon is my advice.
