at one reswhore in particular
Just finished playing a series of games with the most annoying idiot I have ever seen. Normal idiots just reswhore then die repeatedly, but not this one. He starts out the game with "I call reswhore." Now, normally "reswhore" is not something you call to others, but rather something you're called by others, so it takes a lot of g*ddamn gall to proudly proclaim you're going to be of little use to the team the first few minutes. And loudly refuse any requests made of him the entire game. Requests like "Put down a hive."
Our boy goes fade about 6 minutes into the game. No, he did not make a single kill in the interim, but managed to help the marines earn quite a few rfks by his playing style - run directly at them, stop, bite. Repeat. Did I mention he never left starting hive?
Anyway, he goes fade. And promptly contributes by blinking up and down behind the hive while a single marine was shooting it. Apparently hives make good shields. He dies eventually, of course, and the marine is killed off by a gorge.
But does that stop our man, now a combat-hardened veteran? No! He's going to top his proud feat by becoming the first two-hive onos to die without getting a single shot in.
What can such genius say to us mere mortals, scurrying around building rts and attacking the marines? Why, "I need DCs!" of course! Absolutely nothing less than perfection from one of the best players in the history of Natural Selection!
Reswhores arouse my wrath like nothing else.

I find that 1-2 gorges making o chambers and upgrade chambers, 3-5 gorges dropping rt's(ones u can hold.. not any rt), 1 guy saving for 2nd hive, and 1-2 reswhores is good, one to go early fade.... and one to go early onos....
This balance gives aliens wins... as opposed to drop all 9 res... have 5 of them killed.. no chambers, no res to do anything with.... boo hoo we lose...
The thing is... for that to work the reswhores must have skill... if not its worthless they might as well just save for the 3rd hive..

I posted an idea here about connecting res to score. That way gorges who build, skulks who kill RTs, and players who actually kill marines all get more res than someone who sits in the hive waiting to get his "l3et pwnos." Teamwork is improved without individuality being restricted, as there are a number of equally different ways of being beneficial to the team and being rewarded for that.
This thread is more a rant, because reswhores truly irk me, especially if they have the chutzpah to wear the moniker as a badge of pride.
I suppose you would rather have preferred him to be a stupid gorge and rush into the marine's spawn and drop a sensory right in front of four marines(causing your 1st hive to be stuck at sensory but no chambers to benefit from). Then for the rest of the game maybe build six offense chambers in some obscure vent(while taking away chamber "slots" from a nearby vital area) to "protect the hive from JP".
An idiot who doesn't listen to the team will not be worth anything playing any role beyond a meatshield to soak bullets while you come up behind the enemy.
He was an idiot yes, but far from simple. He knew the rules, he knew what was the best thing to do, he just didn't do it. As if to spite us.
He also jumped in the comm chair the next game (I went rine), but the hilarity that ensued would be off topic.
However, this really isn't a place to vent frustration at a stupid player. There are far more constructive uses to which that bile might be put. So, in hopes that efforts will be more properly rerouted, *LOCKED.*
