<div class="IPBDescription">I fried my bro's videocard</div> He asked for it though.

He wanted me to apply some better thermal compound to his GPU because he was having heat issues. After cleaning the white goop off, I applied some Arctic Silver 3. Yes, AS3 is electrically conductive and can be dangerous, but I was careful, I swear! Actually, some of the original white goop got onto the front of the card and we didn't notice it. Windows loading screen has artifacts, card wont boot to the desktop. I'm cleaning it with alcohol, hopefully that will remove anything thats still on there. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->

    You had better retrace your steps and check the ground because I think you lost your mind!

    The Ti 4400 has a fan, a not bad fan. Next time you decide to go insane, why not just buy a second case fan and GLUE it to the inside of the case aimed at the cards.

    I have 6 Fans in my cases, 4 are case fans I use to move air over EVERYTHING!

    WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?<!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->? <!--emo&:0--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wow.gif'><!--endemo-->

    I really hope you can save the card!

    yeh. My 4200 has a whopping great fat assed fan on it. So moving it up a chiset should make the fan bigger. My pc has 9 fans in total. 3 moving air about. 1 GPU fan, 1 CPU fan, 2 PSU fans, and 2 HDD cooling fans. All in all, the air in my pc moves around just a little.

    This is what I was referring to...

    <!--QuoteBegin--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->While much safer than electrically conductive silver and copper greases, Arctic Silver 3 should be kept away from electrical traces, pins, and leads. While it is not electrically conductive, the compound is slightly capacitive and could potentially cause problems if it bridges two close-proximity electrical paths.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

    AS3 can short your card (or any component for that matter). But it was the white paste that got on the card, not the AS3.
