<div class="IPBDescription">Not NS related, Feel free to bump to OT.</div> Hokai.
I have a radeon 8500 pro with latest catalyst drivers and Windows XP SP1.
I borrowed a mate's DVI-VGA adapter and plugged in a second monitor into my DVI port. Reboot. Boots up with one monitor. Damn. I've had dual-head working on my mate's 9700 pro fine this way. First reboot and the second monitor was mirroring the first one. Not so in my case.
I go into display properties and right click on the fuzzed out second monitor box and click "Attached". First screen flickers but nothing happens on the second one. I go into advance properties and look at the "Displays" tab. The other three boxes have red crosses though their plug pictures so I can't turn anything on here.
Back in the main display options I can't check the "Extend my Windows monitor onto this monitor." without any effect.
I've installed "Hydravision" and can't figure out how to make it do anything useful.
Any help would be good.

P.S. I've plugged my second monitor into my main VGA port and it works fine. It's not the problem.

Anyone got a solution?

My secondary monitor can run 1024x768x32x85Hz fine. That shouldn't be a problem.
I'm going to try a driver re-install and see how that goes.
