Installation Problems

<div class="IPBDescription">Please Help</div> OK I just downloaded NS v2.0 and I can't figure out what directory to install to. I'm a long timer from CS and I know a lot of people that really recommend this game and I wanted to get started. So can someone PLEASE help me out on this one, either full instructions or the directory to install to would be fine, thanks much.

install it to your half-life directory

or IF YOU HAVE CS RETAIL

to the cs directory

If you want to use NS with steam read the webbed topic in the tech forum "Explicit instructions on how to run NS on steam" or something like that

I've tried installing it to the CS directory, as I have CS retail (recently bought because someone got my CD key). Anyways, a box appears only for a second and then goes away and NS never loads. Anyone have an idea what it could be?

It sounds like you probably didn't upgrade the latest CS patch, go to <a href='http://www.counter-strike.net' target='_blank'>http://www.counter-strike.net</a> and download the CS 1.0.0.5 patch RETAIL FULL.
