Cpl. Ryan Simmons was in a daze. When he woke up, everything was blurry and loud. All he could see was figures and bright lights looming above him as he felt a sharp pain in his right arm. As Cpl. Simmons was returning to full conciousness, he realized where he was. The place appeared to be a TSA base camp, but with an unusual mount of bustle. He vision cleared, and he was looking into the face of a field surgeon; Dr. Daniel Hadley.
"Well well, seems that you're doing a lot better, eh Corporal?
"Wha...? Where am I and what is going on?"
"Aaah...class 3 amnesia..." said Dr. Hadley to his associate. "Right then. You wanted to know what is going on?"
"Yeah."
"Well, Corporal, you are part of the 72nd Infantry of the TSA. You are based out of McFarrell OAB. You were apparently at your gaurd station when the East wing of the base exploded. You were lucky. You only sustained a few 3rd degree burns and 2 broken legs. It could have been a lot worse."
"Whoa. Well, how did the east wing explode?"
"Apparently some Fades, part of a Kaharaa Strike Team, came in and blew up the base's eastern energy core. It blew up, people died, and here you are now."
"Jesus H. Christ....."
"Well that's all that I am at liberty to tell you...Commander Tomlinson will be by sometime in the next 2 hours to fill you in."
"Alright...by the way, where am I?"
"TSA Temporary Base Xect. Finstamin, in the 3rd Venk Region. We had to evacuate all personel from from the base, just to be sure that no Kaharaa got the rest of the people."
"Oh my God...this is horrible..."
"Yes well..."
Dr. Hadley was cut off by the shriek of a siren followed by an announcement.
"ATTENTION ALL BASE PERSONEL. A KAHARAA FORCE IS CONVERGING ON THE BASE. ACTIVATING HENESSY PROTOCOL AND CLASS 3 LOCKDOWN."
"Oh ****! I'm sorry Corporal, I'm locking the medical sector down, I must go get into my field surgeon gear."
Dr. Hadley left the small medical compound and locked it down. No one got in or out. As all the commotion was going on, The Corporal could not help but think about things. What <i>really</i> happened (He knew that this was all a lie.) and Why were the Kaharra attacking them? No one knew, and it seemed likely that he would never know...unless he found out himself.
