But I loved the neo vs smith fight in matrix revolutions.
It was the pure idea that all the flying meant that the hatred transcended rules and reality right down to pure gutteral HATE.
and for me that's what made the fight worth watching, not that super speed or super hard punches crap. Just the flying.
neo tears up so many heads, and time when he just smacks smith in the dome with the pipe was so savage

Them your an idiot!

I suggest you watch Dragon Ball Z.

Yup.
I don't want to get into an involved argument on this topic, but I think the expression on smith's face as well as the complete lack of expression on neo's face were both intentional. PM me if you want reasons why I believe this.
You don't quite understand my point about the flying. Flying is common in DBZ and just doesn't do it for me.
raiden v harrier (snake v hind)

one time I was like 8 and I tottally got my **** kicked by two guys who actually knew how to fight [I remember what I thought during that fight, and it was "wow, they are hitting me in the face, no fair" ]
and there was another fight where I kicked a guy in the temple with a pair of rollerblades on
and the best fight I've had was when the same guy I booted in the temple threw me into a car and I broke the tail light, and then he started to taunt me and said I couldn't hit hard at all, and I took like a good three to four step wind up and got a full good hard swining-to-the-fences hit right in jaw, to bad it got broken up by a neighboor

Back to the topic, my favorite fights are during the Majiin Buu Saga DBZ episodes

I always hated fighting the T-RExes at the ends of Jurassic Park and Jurassic Park:Rampage Edition...they don't seem quite so threatning now though.
A lot of battles in Halo are cool...Like in Two Betrayals, the giant battle between the Covenant and [other people...go play the game...no spoilers here...but that's probably a spoiler right there...so pffft.]. Except, unless you're assisting the other side, the Covenant always win.
...Almost all of Call of Duty .
I'd have to say the Terminator versus the TerminatriX (god, how retarded that name is...and just how bad she is as a antagonist in general. Despite that, battle at the end (not the very end, but near the end) is just awesome) is great. I want to smash a urinal over someone's head right now!
Sophitia versus anyone in Soul Calibur (If I'm using Sophitia ). Although, I haven't played that in a while, it might not work out quite so well anymore. (as in: I can only remeber 4 special moves now)
I'll have to vote Gladiator: Maximus versus Tigris of Gaul (...dude with the axe and sword wearing a mask...to some of you), or perhaps Maximus versus Emperor Commodus. All the battles in that movie are actually excellent. Just pick anypoint in Gladiator and I'll give you a scene with action, drama or both.
I think I type to much...or go to in depth. Whenever I look at a thread my posts are always much longer than the others...
Samus Vs. Mother Brain (Super Metroid)
The tension! The drama! The poor baby metroid. :(
This one embodies everything a cinematic video game boss fight should be. So so awesome. :D
ahhh nostalgia, im gonna boot that game up after finals and speedrun it ... again
I'll have to try this statue thing when I get back home. Controller seems more hidden, yet easier and quicker still.
Now I need to play Super Metroid, thanks a lot .

Star wars kid vs. the invisible jedi!
Kill Bill - the Crazy 88 fight.
The Two Towers - Helms Deep
Fellowship of the ring - Balin's Tomb
Equilibrium - Final scenes
The Professional - the Ring trick
Braveheart - Almost any battle
Gladiator - Roman army vs German Barbarians.
Movie Fights:
Even thought people talked more about the final bout, I thought the animation was smoother in the fight between Spike versus Electra in the Cowboy Bebop Movie. A little unfortunate it was on the short side, but still great.
Matrix? I prefer the dojo fight in the first one. Must be something cool in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon that I can't currently remember.
Animated Internet fights:
Let's see what else... Xiao Xiao, Genryu's Blade, Madness Redeemer... if it wasn't such a one-sided beating, this: would have rocked, (still good enough to rock DBZ though).
Games:
Super Punch Out! Comix Zone - I know you're not supposed to, but I loved pounding the crap out of the final boss, even though it meant I got the bad ending. Orc ending for Warcraft III.
One of my main long-term goals is actually to choreograph an animated fight sequence... I actually thought I could get it done within the next two years, but reality hit me fast. I'm just trying to work out a storyboard in my spare time.

MGS2 SPOILER ALERT
Yeah, just in case...
Arsenal Gear (I believe it's called "rectum" of all places). You know, where a lot of Tengus start dropping down. Just before Snake fights Fortune and Raiden moves on to fight the Rays. The screen will, during the fight, suddenly go something that looks like the well-known Game Over (or "Mission Failed") screen. The small picture in the upper left corner goes on showing the game, and you're still in control of your character. Also, the words "Mission Failed", "Continue" and "Exit" are replaced with "Fission Mailed", "Content" and "Omit" (assuming that BM's information is correct. Can't be bothered to go check. Fission Mailed is right though).

although I prefered Kefka as a villian to Sephiroth, I'll cite the last fight in FF7 as my favorite fight... it left an impression...
...though the opera house Ultros battle in FF6 WAS awesome... =P
hmm, they both have opera in them... maybe I'm a closet opera fan.
1 on 1? Goes easily to Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon for some of the most beautiful choreography :
