Movie Soundtracks
i really really really like movie soundtracks. the good ones, anyway.
a few of you have probably purchased or at least listened to the Leon: The Professional soundtrack (Eric Serra is a genius, he's done a LOT of work for Luc besson), the Saving Private Ryan soundtrack, the Road to Perdition soundtrack (Thomas Newman is another genius, he did the plastic bag theme for American Beauty), and of course many of us know Harry Gregson-Williams' work on the Metal Gear Solid tracks.
so... yeah. the ones i listed are my favorites. and they're all fabulous and awesome, indisputably.
does anybody else know similarly-awesome soundtracks i could look into? christmas gifts for myself <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

Just to say that this piece has been retaken by the finnish group Nightwish who has it on their concert DVD/CD. It's of course really good.
Lucky finns, good connections (the other day I saw this guy with FOUR of latency. That's less than me on my LAN), great chicks and great music bands. I know I'd go there if I spoke a single word of it
Oh, and I agree with Agent. Requiem music = owns.
"Back to the Future" has to be my favourite theme of all time.

on the subject of Requiem, I cant stand that bloody Kronos Quartet track, it must be technically the most annoying boring melody ever.
Dancer in the Dark is bjork, yay. (i think thom yorke may also appear in the soundtrack version of one song, even though he wasnt in the films version, hes in one of the versions anyway.)

Vagrant Story is also one of the best psx games around, so if you're looking for hours of cheap quality entertainment, just go for VS. It won't let you down.
Although the Lord of the Ring OST's are good as well (Most notable King Of The Golden Hall though)
requiem for a dream
braveheart
hans
just the few good ones i listen to <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

That should be enough.
Agent, The Kronos Quartet did all of Requiem's soundtrack. I think your referring specifically to the piece Winter or Summer Overture, which I have playing right now.
All three Matrix soundtracks
Tomb raider (1st movie) soundtrack
Game soundtracks:
Halo soundtrack
All of the wipeout soundtracks..
Sonic Adventure 1 & 2 soundtracks.
