My ISP decided they didn't like who they were purchasing their bandwidth from so they are moving over to a faster connection.... but it's gonna take a few days... so I get to experience the very old pain of 56k once again...

    Hey what do you know, Young Me, it actually happened.

    The internet connection doesn't suck that much, but it occassionally goes out because the network admins suck at running a network.

    And IRC is blocked.

    You do end up owning your own en suite room in a flat, term time at least, and you share it with 8 other people, but it's Ok once you get used to it. Oh, and technically speaking, the connection here is higher than 1mb, so don't worry about that either.

    You'll do fine, son. Occassionally, you'll get bored and randomly bump pointless threads, but you do that already, so it's ok.

    We have Verizon FIOS. 5 Mb down and about 1.6 up. I'm pretty sure the college I'm going to will only have a DSL like connection. I'm also a bit worried about what they might block. Luckily I'm pretty sure I'm going to leave my server at home, so I can use that as a proxy.
