Why Is My Fps So Low!

From 99 to 60 with just new drivers.
Ok Firstly on my ns i got a constant 99fps and the same with Dod. Now im lucky to get 60. I'm running a AMD Athlon 2400, Geforce FX 5200 128mb, 512mb Of sd ram, AGP 4x. This fps drop only happened when i updated my drivers. I'm not going back to my old drivers because with the old ones Direct 3d didn't work O_o and most games use direct 3d. Yes im running opengl and yes i have fixed the XP Refresh rate bug, but im still getting 30 fps!! Can someone please help!

Try an older version and see if they work.

You might try downgradeing just a bit to see if a version fixes both problems. I can't recommend a version but I'm pretty sure the folks at guru3d or nvnews forums would know.

EDIT: to add helpful content, did the patch turn vsync on by default? Check your card settings under monitor.
Damn you Redford, that line about vsync wasn't there when i posted.

I would trust detonator R.I.P to do a better job than windows XP(which I would guess just calls the supplied uninstaller from nvidia as would the control panel install/remove program but I'm not at all sure).
