    Nah, my comp came with Win98 and THAT fu*king piece of crap didn't work. So I touched it...with a sledge hammer.

    Now I'm using my newly forged WinXP.

    Win Amp 3 sucked

    so I stuck with winamp 2

    Winamp 5 seems to work realy well <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    you can also make winap 5 work/look EXACTLY like 2 when ever you want it to (kill the medial library and stick the playlist under the main window and tadah, win amp 2)

    I like the media library (very remenisant of iTunes actualy)

    all in all I like the thing <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Oh and internetradio/TV = teh win
    after all you have:
    Digitaly imported (Techno/trance/rave stuff about 10 chanels of it)
    Family Guy
    Red Dwarf
    and stupid amounts of pr0n <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    er if it doesn't bother anyone, is there anyway to have a plugin similar to HLamp, but in general? I would love to be able to check the mp3 tags while in (any) game and if possible without annoying the whole server with "I am listening to [ song ] (HLamp)" spammage
    I'd think if it exists (believe me I searched but to no avail) it would be some simple OSD-like type thing appearing on the corner. I would think possibly like this game-face thing I've heard about the Asus XT cards <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
    Winamp 5 has a small screen that appears on the lower right side of the screen with the id3 information. It does lag my old computer a bit in-game, but works well enough for me. Or you can leave Winamp at the top of the screen, and use your hotkeys to scroll.

    pop up the media library

    then on the menu on the left (where it says local media) scroll all the way down and click on Internet TV. Then just look at the 'now playing' tab <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    But the modern skin is so big. It's like twice the size of the classic.

    it appears as soon as I run winamp...

    the version 5 just sucks... I'll stick with winamp 3 (never had problems with it)
  • Cereal_KillRCereal_KillR Join Date: 2002-10-31 Member: 1837Members
    hmm funny, I never had problems with the 5, but the 3 already crashed upon a radio stream, skin change and playlist fiddling-around.

    oh! I've deleted the configuration file and it works again... I'll give wianmp 5 a second chance.

    EDIT: Weird, I use LiteStep, and the LiteStep VWM compatibility mode doesn't seem to work well.

    EDIT 2: Forget everything I said, it works like a charm <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo--> Looks great

    lol

    just to get things clear:

    Internet Radio/TV are NOT new in any way shape or form. They are just more obvious in 5 then in 2/3.

    And NO you don't have to pay

    All oyu get for paying is the ability to burn CS, rip faster, and I think thats it

    btw, does any one know how to get it so that if you click on a link to a stream it will automaticly popit into winamp?

    like this one:
    <a href='http://64.236.34.97:80/stream/1003' target='_blank'>Digitaly Imported</a>

    Or check to make sure Winamp is the program set to open that type of file.

    Here's a simple way...

    Right Click/Save As the .pls file from the DI site. If WinAMP5's anything like 3, in the Playlist window, you can have saved playlists in a pull out part of the window. Create a new playlist, title it what it'll connect you to, and keep the .pls file in that. Kinda rough description, if you can't figure it out IM me I guess.

    Like so... I literally never visit www.di.fm anymore because of this method.

    Have you guys tried the visiualization plug-in that comes with Winamp 5, called MilkShape? It is amazing. I've been staring at it for thirty minutes and my head is feeling light.

    Edit: AMAZING.

    Don't you have to Register MilkShape? Some you have to... and they're just Plug-Ins... Grrr..
