and not too bad of an idea (i think)
i was wondering, can anyone make a model of a LA marine (original model)but make his armor look ruged, like hes been in past grueling battles like a few scrapes on the armor, a faded TSA eblem, a few dents in the armor, a scrape along the helmet and mabye even a few (small) scars on his face. i think this idea is pretty good because it adds to the enviorment on the game, i mean if new recruits saw 3 skulks comming at em theyd **** thier pants, but in the game the marine bhops and such so it looks like the marine is a battle veteran and knows what hes up against and knows what hes doing

so that means they would send in fresh new verterans just to be killed?

Not a bad idea though...maybe a couple of wartorn marines here and there. Maybe with the clever use of skingroups, you can accomplish such a task, since ingame you have a random skingroup chosen for you each game.

I did a little h4xor of a wartorn marine arm skin here...

Here it is, but i think I can do a better job than this, since it doesn't look too well on a model.

now why would the TSA send battle hardened veterans to be killed? when they would logically send them in to exterminate the alien lifeforms.........

EDIT: well drake there cool in all but im talknig about most of thier armor is dmged not just a "gasmask" and some cuts on thier face here and thier

and possibly be killed in the process...
    Sarcasm man.

Yes drake, thats what i meant. Using skingroups for more variations of marines.

key word there is possibly, why send in fresh recruits who will take many casualies and die when u could send in veterans who would take some casualties but get the job done

Heres a bunch of ideas -

-a couple dozen scars would be good for that "Look at me, I've been in combat and I didn't get chopped up into little bits" kinda look.

-Deep and shallow scratches on the nanoarmor for that "Look at me, I almost got chopped into little bits but this armor saved me" look.

-Little yellow on the handguards for that "Look at me, I was the one who chopped the enemy into little bits with my bare hands, ph33r me" look as well.

-Torn pieces of cloth. If its not Nanoarmor, then it gets torn. Also to show off those sexy arms and legs.

    Edit: Since you said rugged,
-An unshaved face. Now thats rugged.
