<div class="IPBDescription">bah</div> bf1942 ....YES bf1942 $50,000 total cash prizes for Summer 04.
<a href='http://www.thecpl.com/summer2004/' target='_blank'>http://www.thecpl.com/summer2004/</a>

WHY?

-08:56- <CPL|George> well for one bf1942 won the poll
-08:57- <CPL|George> and sponsorship interest has a lot to do with our decisions as well
-08:57- <CPL|George> which is why we might use cod in the summer

Being an Aussie I've never had much to do with the CPL - but this is BS. Vanilla BF42 bites hard, and there isnt a man, woman or child here that doesnt know it. Are the CPL people known for selling out?

    It should've been WC3:FT, but yeah, they do sell out.

    Well, they also have:

    I thought you were saying it's JUST battlefield for the FPS's. Whew. As for selling out, well, they have a $50,000 prize for a game that's not even <i>done</i> yet which could potentially suck comeplete arse, UT 2004. So form your opinion...

    Oh its not JUST BF1942 in the CPL, its just that BF1942 got a $50,000 prize that I would have awarded to tetris before I gave it to that absolute dog of a game. It even won out over Call of Duty. What really makes me angry is that they give you options to vote for things, to let you think your opinion matters, when its ultimately the sponsorship that actually decides it. Those poor fools in the DoD community got all worked up over the possibility of DoD in the CPL, all went and voted, and now get told "Frankly you never had a chance, you didnt have sponsorship".

    ARGH!

    <!--QuoteBegin--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->Sponsorships were the main deal in picking which game would be added to CPL and unfortunarly DoD has none. Even though George said if DoD can find sponsorships it might have a chance.

    -09:03- <CPL|George> if someone in the dod gets a sponsor to put up a decent prize for this dod byoc tournament
    -09:03- <CPL|George> it will further show the cpl
    -09:03- <CPL|George> how serious the dod community is
    -09:04- <CPL|George> if a lot of clans show up
    -09:04- <CPL|George> we'd even secure a whole section of our byoc
    <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

    And in my rush I missed that on ut2004 - I thought it said ut2003. Not even released yet ffs - and it already gets a spot. Guess CPL just "eeny, meenie, minee, mo" and ended up with ut2004 <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->
