Hey i was thinkin (oh no!!!) could we get an admin to make a statement on this subject because it seems that this thread is getting out of hand, perhaps a final word on all of this.
Firstly, Maredtext, your post was so full of hypocracy I can't even belive that you took abbacadabbra's side in this argument. If anyone posting here would be in risk of being banned for flaming it would definately be you; you were the first to insult anyone as a person (ie. not criticizing something someone had done, but actually criticizing the person) and all later flames of this nature were in direct response to your post. Not to mention you took peoples statements way out of context, and created values in statements that clearly did not exist.
Secondly, my best friend imigrated from Hong Kong 3 years ago, and it is true that second language english speakers do try to learn from being corrected. But it is not true that they never feel insulted when corrected, if in doubt, just keep your mouth shut, its an easy way to not start a flame war.
Thirdly, I'm not going to import every post I make into word to make sure there are no spelling mistakes, that is just nerdy. That being said, I would hope at least most people would read thier posts through to make sure that gramatily they read the way they intended them to read, ppl who don't just bug me <!--emo&:0--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wow.gif'><!--endemo-->
Forth, abbacadabbra, you need to realize that the people modding these forums are also the people who are building NS, they don't have the time to read every post and remove all flames, expecially since these forums are much busier than most online forums due to the massive amount of people biting thier nails and waiting for 3.0. To blame Max and Flayra for the fact that you have to see flamers in action is just not fair.
This comunity is far from the worst when it comes to dealing with new members, never the less, we are certianly not the best either. Whenever someone flames you, I'd just point it out infront of the comunity, the majority of us are mature and seasoned users here, we will most likely take the flamer down with you. That being said, don't be too sensitive, the person speaking to you has never seen you before in thier life, they do not know you, so it should go without saying that nothing they have to say about you has any value to your life whatsoever.
As a last reminder, I'll just leave the fact that if you dont want to be flamed in the I&S, read the faq and do a quick search before you post, at least that way you can tell anyone that says otherwize to shut up.
