<div class="IPBDescription">need a concept/theme to work with.</div> well ive been drawing a good part of my life and have gotten pretty good. i havent drawn in quite awhile tho so i may be a bit rusty. so, after seeing the amazing pictures here ive decided to draw some natural selection themed pictures. ive drawn the pictures from the screen shots sections (the concept pieces, etc) but wouldnt really consider it art cuz well, i just drew what i saw. i wanna manipulate the characters to more artsy pictures. i love perfectionsflaw pictures of nancy and the cute gorges. i just cant seem to think of a good concept for the pictures i wanna draw. ill prolly get over it soon, its prolly just a mental block from not drawing in quite a while.but like i see the picture of the rine holding akimbo pistols against a corner w/ a skulk on it. i wanna be able to take the screen shot images and dowhat i want to put them in situations that would look good on paper. i just need some tips or so on how to do that. do you just make up some the stuff or is it from playing so long you can recall exactly how the characters move and so on. well this has become a lot longer post than i planned, so if this ramble made sense to anyone, help me out. i need a jump-start to l337ness like the rest of the guys here. maybe if i read some fan-fiction stories ill get an idea.hmmm, well im off.

I think the best way to start with an idea is to scribble sketches on paper, like scribble circles and boxes that represent certain elements, and start off frome there. Well, that is at least the way I do things...It wouldn't hurt to get reference, like using your own hands to imagine what gun positions would look like, and then quickly sketch that position and fill the details in later. Dunno?
If you just want specific ideas, there's a couple pieces of art I've always wanted to see done but lack the skill to actually produce myself.
An unknown element is always the most thought provoking. So I'm thinking of seeing something drawn from behind a heavy armored marine, peering just over it's right shoulder. We should be able to see the heavy's hmg being held in a very hesitant manner. The heavy should convey that he's at a loss for what to do. Now, in front of the HA we see a semi-long hallway. And at the end we simply see a helmet lying on the ground with some sort of dent or breakage. There should be pools of both green and red blood all around the helmet.
Now for the true intrigue of the picture. You need to convey the idea that there's an INTENSE firefight just around the corner, but without any direct confirmation of that fact. So I would suggest some crazy gunfire style lighting. And maybe 1-2 bullet trails going across the hall from the fighting side into the opposite wall where chunks of said wall are exploding into the air.
Now that's something I'd kill to see.
